Hi there,
Welcome 😊
Depression and anxiety is a bit of a double whammy. I feel for you but kudos for reaching out. Respect.
I'm 20 years old and have a history of depression and anxiety. But I'm afraid that I don't know very much about the disability support pension.
I imagine mental illness would fall under that bracket though. Yeah, it can be super nerve racking to talk to the Centrelink staff especially considering your anxiety.
But it wouldn't hurt to explore your options. Perhaps try googling for information first or even calling the Centrelink customer service number? Just as it would be less confronting than face to face.
Hope this helps a little. You're not alone in this.

Hi Peridot,
Welcome to the forum and the community here. Sorry to read you are struggling with depression and anxiety.
I don't know a great deal about Centrelink. I am assuming you would need to make an appointment to see someone there. Make enquires about a possible disability pension claim.
I am assuming you would need a certificate from your Dr as well detailing the level of your mental health issues.
If possible, take someone with you to the Centrelink office. Also take along your favourite music or a book if you go alone, that way you might not become so anxious while you are waiting.
Hope some of this helps,
Cheerio for now from Mrs. Dools
