Been feeling depressed over something so stupid

I already have depression but recently I've been even more over something so stupid, about 3 months ago, I was banned from a Facebook group that I regularly loved posting in and loved the posts that came from it. One day I was banned because I broke one of their rules , they didn't tell me what I did however i figured that's the reason why I got banned. All I did is share a link of a t-shirt and it was against the rules to do so. It didn't bother me for a while but I have just started to really really miss it. I tried messaging one of the admins when I didn't know what I did wrong and why I was banned, he said he didn't even know why and I told him could I please be let back in, I've read the rules again and whatever it was I won't do it again and he said that I probably broke one of the rules and I said so your saying I can't be let back in right? And he basically just ignored me after that. About a week ago I found somebody that also got banned from the same group and he said an another admin let him back in if he subscribed to a YouTube channel and so he got let back in, I found that admin and said If I could be let back in if I do the same thing and I'm pretty sure that admin just totally ignored me. There's not really any point trying to message another admin because they'll just say no or will ignore me, no matter what I'll say.

I honestly don't even know why I am so depressed over it, it's just a stupid Facebook group and I really should be worried about other things but I'm not. There was something I just really really liked about it.

Hi LiamG,

It actually makes sense to me that you'd be upset about being banned from the group. It sounds like it was a good community that you enjoyed being part of, and it's completely understandable to miss that. Particularly if you spent a reasonable amount of time on there.

Have you had a look around for other groups where you can share the same sort of content? It might not be the same (online communities rarely are completely 100% equivalent), but you might be able to come across something to use as a replacement and begin growing that enjoyment from posting in a new place instead... Kind of like a rebound-group instead of a rebound girlfriend 😛 Or you could even create your own group and try to grow its membership instead?

I found another group but it's not quite the same and doesn't have nearly as many members. But I'm gonna try and expand it anyway, the admins on there seem more nicer on it though which is good.

Hi LiamG,

I understand because it feels like real life, as if you were getting left out of something all your friends were doing, would make you feel down so I do understand how you are feeling, but like sparkvark said above, is there any other similar groups you could join? or even finding a completely different group to join and be apart of?

My best for you,

Jay
