Hi Ashiipoo! (great name)
Anger is something that can be hard to cope with. Coming from a family with domestic violence can be very difficult. I hope you are okay.
People say that anger comes from feeling helpless, not in control of your own life, or maybe you were a witness to something in your childhood that you definitely shouldn't have been. all i know is, that it usually comes directly from our childhood.
I have struggled with anger for a long time, and I can guarantee you, that there is can be really inflict onto our lives and most of the time we don't know why we are angry.
I have taken steps to manage my anger efficiently, so i can stop taking it out on the people that i love most.
at first, you have to recognise when you are feeling irritated, frustrated or angry, and find a way to channel it in a healthy way.
for example, the other day, my mum said something that made me furious, so instead of yelling back at her, I decided to take a drive and clean my car. Honestly, within a few minutes i forgot what my mum said. I felt better too.
so, i would definitely suggest doing something that calms you. Reading, drawing, journalling, colouring in (excellent for stress & anxiety too). Have you tried meditating? It can be excellent for recognising your emotions and can really be an effective way to manage your anger.
as for your partner. Talk to him/her and tell your partner exactly what you're feeling. Your partner will appreciate it and be aware that you are trying to make changes in your life, as well as improve your well being.
I understand how detrimental anger can be, but only with recognising your anger and what your triggers are, you can make small changes in your life to channel your energy more positively and improve your relationships with people around you.
I hope this helped in some way.
Good Luck! and feel free to reply xx
