Hi all.
I have met a few lovely people already on this site..and for that I'm so grateful.
I was just wondering if there is anyone in the know about what sort of work I could look for that requires minimal social exposure..such as a job just replying to emails ..or the like ?.
Im not proficient at typing but I can learn .
What other jobs can I look into .. perhaps working from home ?
Im qualified in child care but due to my illness and meds thats out of the question... i have experience in cleaning but that's about it 😕.
Im getting desperate and consequently extremely anxious ...
Any suggestions would be so appreciated.

Hi Wonder Woman,
There definitely are more jobs available to suit those like yourself (sounds perfect for me too, to be honest).
I've heard of plenty of jobs (for major retailers and corporations) who require people to assist with "online chatting" services. Whether it's telecommunications, retailers, etc. Every company is looking for people to assist online these days (not only is it less confrontational for the employee, but also for the person who needs their questions answered).
You will be required to do some training, but there will be sources readily available for you to even copy+paste into chat logs with clients/customers. It makes the job much easier. You can also search key words from a database to assist with the questions you will receive.
There's also no immediate pressure to answer as there is with customer service calls over the phone.
Just an idea that popped up at the top of my head. Hope this helps!

Hi Wonder woman,
Thanks for your post. Really glad you are enjoying the forums so far!
The biggest thing that comes to mind with minimal social exposure is data entry. This can be from home or in an office; but doesn't require a lot of socialisation with people. A lot of administration jobs can be minimal exposure; especially in little offices or as an assistant rather than the front desk/customer service.
How do you personally define minimal? Is it with too many people in the room; is it the pressure of having to do too many things at once; is it phone calls that cause too much anxiety?
Knowing what your strengths as well as vulnerabilities are is important so you can try and 'round down' that field a little more. For me personally I prefer emails and letters over phone calls because I know my way around the computer. I'm good at working independently and don't need to be watched, but if I'm not confident in what I'm doing I get overwhelmed. There are certain things that I hate with a passion and will avoid and there are other things that I love and there are also things that are uncomfortable but I will do anyway. I think it's about finding that middle line.
Working from home jobs are quite limited sadly; the ones I've seen are mostly around sales/telecommunications, typing/data entry, charity calls or service assistants. If ever you're looking for 'at home' jobs please look at the finer print; there are many many that are scams!
With your qualifications in childcare; would being a nanny something you could be interested in? That could be your own hours and only one-two children at a time; and you could specify the ages? Or perhaps working with children one on one with special needs?
With your experience in cleaning; could at home cleaning be an option? Many businesses will contract cleaners and have them to visit homes; often it's only one cleaner and the person isn't even around. Or it could be with a community centre, so your role could be going to an elderly persons home and doing some of the cleaning there; perhaps with chit-chat but nothing too formal. Depending on the work, it could just be about finding a later shift; so looking at the right time so you can clean when everyone else has gone home. Often the hours here are very flexible too which can work well.
Hope this helps!

Hi romantic_thi3f
Thanks for your welcome andcyour thorough answer.
I don't like answering phone's... or face to face ... im lacking so much in confidence/belief in my self..always have... I mean ...Im not stupid..or lazy...just ridiculously anxious and always think im not good enough..I'll fail ...I'll panic... etc etc.
I dont mind being in an office ..working independently by myself doing maybe data entry or answering email... but im not a fast typist and my RA in my wrists is bad after lots of finger movement.
I cant do child care..because of the RA and my lowered immune system...
Ive enquired about doing cleaning for the elderly in their homes through my local shire but I have to do a certificate in community services for that..and financially cant afford to.
Im trying to make stuff to sell but thats not viable in long run.
