Hi, I have no idea where or how to start solving my problems, I can't stop spending all my money every time I get paid and it's gotten so bad I'm in debt to pretty much everyone I know and have a short term loan, I've been off work for 3 days with depression because I just got my fortnightly pay and it was all gone by the next day.
I'm having trouble not drinking which is making it worse. I don't have any sick leave left so won't get paid. Need to get a medical certificate but anxiety is stopping me leaving the house.
I also smoke pot and have a massive debt there that I'm unable to pay, no more loans available and gotta get through somehow but no idea where to start...

Hello Betterlife
Good on you for having the courage to post and thankyou!
What you are going through is painful and would hurt....a lot. I understand a lot of what you are going through as I used to have chronic anxiety/agoraphobia which was awful. I do feel your pain
Okay...leaving the house....do have anyone that can take you to your GP so you can get the medical certificate?
There are also terrific people that help out with financial issues/debt through your local council. They are free to see and are non judgemental. I have been terminated a couple of times due to having a mental illness and have had to seek the same help too. They took all my bills in and wrote to them saying I wasnt in a position to pay.
Just so we can help you more effectively can I ask you if you have been seeing your GP or a psychologist? . The only reason I ask is that we all have to try to heal this awful illness...It takes a while and serious determination but it does reduce the severity of the anxiety.
You are not alone here Betterlife....in any way. There are many gentle people on the forums that can be here for you. The forums are also a rock solid safe and non judgemental place to post too
If you get stuck and need a qualified voice to voice the Beyond Blue Support line is available 24/7 1300 22 4636
I hope you can stick around the forums and post back if you have the time
My Kind thoughts
Paul

Hi
We will help you as much as we can here like Paul said. I'm just wondering if your spending your pay on pot or buying things as a short lived feel good. If it is a short lived feel good then you will need stratergies to change that behavior.
By the sound of it you have clocked up alot in tick to your supplier. Not a good position in be in and the stress would be crazy. If need be you might need to look at going into at least a detox clinic.
I got clean and still held down a full time job. For some of us it's the only way instead of rehap. If you choose that be prepared to have a very very busy life. It requires giving programe 110% of your out of work time but you get a new set of freinds while changing your old behaviors that did not work. It also helps with depression but you will need to see a GP. Depression is sadly part of the bad side of addiction
