Most recently I was hospitalised due to a acute anxiety attack which effected my ability to speak.
I am married and have been with my wife for 11 years next month we have a 7 month old
they have been the things that have kept me going as I have thought recently about giving up my Business.

Hey Brad
We are similar ages and similar timing with our depression _ I estimate mine has been here for about 6 months. I have also recently joined here and begun to reach out for more help, I'm going to the GP tomorrow to look into some meds, I'm concerned about side effects but have hope they will lift the sadness.
You sound like your doing a great job with your path to wellness, taking all the right steps, running your business (that's amazing) and finding happiness and solace in your lovely little family, that takes a strong person and you must be made of the right stuff to push through.
I hope your days get brighter and brighter - I never realised quite how debilitating and difficult this illness is until I found myself deep in it and its comforting to know I'm not alone and to get support from others on this site who are truly inspirational.
Wishing you every success, you can do this and you will!

Hi Brad and welcome to the forums.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Depression and anxiety can be all-consuming and so is running your own business. No surprise you find this combination hard to juggle and that it has been taking its toll.
Well done for being proactive about this situation. Your health is a priority so please take good care of yourself. Having to let go of your business would be a difficult but perhaps necessary transition. Only you can know what is to be done or what can no longer be done. Putting all the pros and cons in writing will help clarify your thoughts to yourself. It usually brings better insight into any given situation.
Your wife's support and input means you are not struggling alone. A recent addition to the family will help put it all into new perspective. It seems you have reached a turning point, courageous and careful decisions will need to be made.
These forums are a safe place to vent your feelings and/or connect with other people in a similar position. Sometimes, we all need to let off steam or bounce ideas against other people's. Reaching out was a brave and wise decision. Good to have you on board.

Hi backtobliss,
Thank you for your thoughts , I too was concerned about medication and side effects . Its a bit trial and error to get one that's suits you I am on my second lot but they seem better in side effects .
Its early to tell if my mood is improving as I am having a stressful time in Business things not going well.
I hope you find some balance from medication and don't be afraid to seek that help

Hi Starwolf,
Thank you so much , certainly having a new addition has put things in perspective I used to value money and success at any price but since my depression and realizing how serious an illness it can be I have very much changed my outlook , just the fact some days I can't even bear look at emails fearing bad news shows how powerful the Illness can be .
I have been weighing up future that's for sure only reason I have been fighting though is not to leave all my staff and clients with nothing so I keep fighting but its certainly making my treatment very tough .
Reaching out is the first step I have taken
Regards
Brad
