So anyone else on here suffer from bi polar type 2? If yes, what type of work do you do. Before having children I was a personal assistant, apart from being pregnant and that messing with my hormones. I was pretty good at it. Had good routines in play. Cue having children, thryoid problems. Now I haven't been in the workforse for 10 years. I have uni degree. I have completed a short term course recently but I became hypermanic. Then crashed into depression. My depression lates around 4 days. Then I can get out.
So what type of work do other bi polar type 2 people do? I know I can't do night shift.

welcome to the forum.
This is a caring, friendly and supportive place.
I was diagnosed so long ago when bipolar was called manic depressive so
I don't know if I am bipolar 1 or 2.
Have you made a list of what you want in a job and what your skills are and what you like doing?
What I do know is it depends on the person. I tried being a teachers aide, a teacher, a facilitator , a health educator and many other roles including clerical, child care and sales. I found it hard with 3 children and part time study to work fulltime. So I mainly worked part time.
For me I found teaching very exhausting and fulfilling. In the end I started my own shop over ten years ago when my children had grown up.
I know not everyone can do this but being my own boss and doing something I love , has helped me so much.
There is a thread called this bipolar life , where you can come and have a look, ask questions if you like and read older posts. You are most welcome.

They are great skills and could be applied to many job areas.
I am very disorganised and admire people who are organised.
Have you seen a careers counsellor they can help people of all ages or see someone who specialise in people wanting to change jobs .
