Hi all and Merry Christmas,
I’ve joined the group for help/understanding of anxiety disorder. I think I have generalised anxiety that is getting worse.
I’ve always been a “worrier” but feel things are getting a little out of control.
im 44 and have a 6y/0 daughter.
i find i’m Constantly worrying about most things and definitely catastrophise everything. I can generally get through the day and go about my day but it’s always with an underlying sense of unease.
I’m starting to worry over my health even though I have no health issues...and have dizzy spells..
its all becoming exhausting and frustrating and I just want to enjoy life without overanalysing every aspect of it.
any ideas of where to start?
thanks in advance for your time.

Hi
Welcome to BB and Merry Christmas.
TO start with go see your GP and talk to them.
I've got a 14 year old and am now 47. For the last 8 years I think it is now I've been medicated for anxity and depression. My son calls them Mums anti flap tablets because before properly diagnosed I'd literally move my hands around alot flustered and not be able to concentrate on anything. Earlier this year I forgot to take my meds and had to drive home through flooded roads. I well kinda did alot of damage to car because i panicked and went over a few taffic islands to get home to my son when i got lost on roads i travel everyday.
Please keep posting and sharing.

Hi Lara,
Welcome to the forums! It’s great to have you here. Ive found the community here very supportive and willing to share their experiences and knowledge.
It sounds like you have anxiety. I’d recommend booking an appointment to see your GP. They’ll do a general health checkup, and run some blood tests to see if a vitamin deficiency or low blood pressure etc, is the cause of your dizzy spells. It could simply be stress/anxiety.
They’ll probably refer you to a psychologist if you have anxiety. If money is a problem, ask if you’re eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan. This means that you can claim up to 10 free or discounted sessions per year.
I would love to chat with you some more.
Hope this helps 😊

I also welcome you to the forum. This is a safe, upportive, friendly, non judgmental and caring place.
I come from a long line of worriers, in fact sometimes I worry when I am not worried.
As Mia said, consulting your GP would be a good start. Also there are threads here they may interest you. There is one on Mindfulness that you may like to look at.
Welcome again and feel free to post when you want to.

Hi Lara,
I am a worrier. But also I am a Warrior. Knowing that gets me through.
grounding exercises have helped me incredibly. I also have numbers out of sequence I recite when I feel a panic attack coming on or during one. There are tricks and it’s important to find what works for you.
the GP or a psychologist can really help start the wheels turning; but you have done that already by coming on here and sharing your story.
all the best
