New, hx of depression and not really sure what's going on with me

Hey guys,

I didn't know this forum existed until today so I'll give it a go.

I feel guilty turning to strangers for support when I do have wonderful support in real life but I also feel guilty putting my problems on people.

I'm so unhappy lately, I'm really hoping that coming here will help .

BB is an amazing organisation that I have huge respect for.

Hopefully when I figure out what's wrong I'll post for support soon.

So yeah....hi!

Hiya LanaKane, how lovely to meet you! Welcome to BB!

No need to feel guilty turning to us hun - it's what we're here for! And I guess the difference is that everyone here has their own lived experience of anxiety, depression or other mental health problems ... we 'get it'. It's great to hear you have good support in 'real life' too, that's gold.

So, what's going on for you hun? I'd like to get to know you if you want to share. Is something in particular making you unhappy or you're unhappy but don't know why?

Here if you want to talk Lana

Hi LanaKane new here to the best thing about turning to the strangers on this board is that they have experience with these problem, I have found that when dealing with these issues family and friends are great for support, but if they have never lived with these problems they don't really understand the problems we have to face, and all the love and care in the world will help, but first hand experience helps put things in to a different perspective that may answer questions and give ideas they cant.

take care and never be afraid to ask for help

hello LanaKane, you know it's so hard to post your first comment on a site that is growing so much, and I realise that this will make you feel as though you are embarrassed, but it's an anonymous site so we don't know who you are, or what you look like, so just take a breath and think about how safe you are where no criticism will be given.
Whatever you want to say there will be a handful of us who will be able to listen, talk or the possibility of giving you some suggestions, but that will depend only on what you want to say.
There must be a lot going on at the moment for you and that's what does worry us, so we hope that you cn come back and hi again. Geoff.

Thank you all for the replies; I already feel welcome.

I'll find the right forum to post for some support.

But a bit more about me, I'm 27, grew up in Canberra but moved to Perth 6 years ago on my own. Met a good bunch of friends, more so the last year or two.Met the man I now call my husband since March 😄 And I work as a paramedic in Perth.

Ah! A Canberra girl! I live in Canberra, not born here but it's been home for the past 20+ years and I love it. I like Perth too but it's a long way from anywhere except Fremantle. 😄

Wow, paramedic! Great respect to you and your colleagues.

Good to have you here Lana.

Cheers
