Hi Everyone,

My name is Sarah and I have a mental illness. I want to meet like minded people so I can learn from others how they cope with everyday Stresses and juggle a crippling affliction of the mind. I'm excited to hear from you. Sarah

Hi Sarah, welcome to the forums.  You'll find lots of like-minded people here, we all have experience of anxiety, depression and/or other forms of mental illness, or have experience in caring for those who do.  Have a look through some of the threads here and feel free to join in the conversations, it's the best way of meeting new people here.

dear Sarah, yes I agree as there are so many people with different stories that they have posted on this site, or should I say what has concerned them greatly over their life.

There would a great deal for you to read, but even when reading them please come back and talk to us, as there maybe specific queries you would like to talk about.

So we hope to hear from you. Geoff. x

Hi Sarah I am only too happy to help you out .don't be embarrassed about your illness and don't let narrow minded people tell you to "get over it" I have been told that and immediately felt guilty and ashamed. I would like to be of assistance to you just go to my profile and you will see my e-mail. Remember that you are a normal person going through hard times rather than an outcast xxxxx

Hi Sarah I too have a chronic anxiety/depression issue.I have been in hospital many times due to this"elephant in the room" type of illness. I do have a support network to help me and am on ongoing medication.

Sarah, first of all do not be ashamed to discuss your illness with people who will stand by you.You have a voice and should not ever be condemned. The ones who turn their backs on you are the ones with the problem not you.

Hope this bit of advice helps you and please stay in touch. You are not alone

Xo Amanda
