im normally quite funny and charming guy but have been so down. I join this community to find help and talk with others as I don't have much of support group.
im married and my wife is quite supportive as she attempt to understand it more.
i enjoy movies, scifi, games, hiking with friends, listening to music. Though lately I haven't enjoyed much.
Im here to make friends and help and be helped 😄

Hi Erdnase83,
Welcome to the forums and thanks for joining us.
Feel free to have a read of the other posts from people experiencing depression here - https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/depression
It sounds like you have some pretty good support from your wife and I'm glad she's trying to learn more about what's going on for you. Are you seeing a GP or a counsellor?
I like movies and music as well; what sort are you into?

Welcome 😊
You sound lonely but I'm glad you have your wife in your corner.
Hey, I also like movies and music too. Looks like you, romantic_thi3f and I have that in common.

Depression takes away everything that we once enjoyed, it eliminates the happiness we had before, even with the hobbies we have no interest in doing anymore, that's the sad part to this illness.
Could I suggest you click onto 'Get Support' and scroll down to 'Information Resources' and order all the printed information from BB ondepression, it's all free, but will help you and your wife to try and understand what this is and ways to help yourself.
As you have been diagnosed with depression could mean that you are in contact with your doctor which is good, and perhaps ask him/her about the 'mental health plan' which entitles you to 10 free visits to see a psychologist, and this can happen every year.
My hiking days are over but I like movies, re-runs of TV episodes and listening to music, but you are now with a large group of friends who you can talk with, good on you, but we hope to hear back from you. Geoff.

Comes to movies I like scifi, action adventures, horror. Kinda. Do like all genres though. Movies that make you think afterwards are the best.
music wise I like Metallica, muse, placebo, disturbed, psy, mackintosh Braun, arms and sleepers. It's mostly rock or instrumental music.
yourself ?
thanks to everyone for the welcome

Hi,
Looks like movies are a win-win in this post!
My favourite genres are comedy, documentary and drama. I also like movies that make you think.
Music wise I'm a mixed bag; I use Spotify (a music app) which is great for finding new tracks and bands that you've never heard of before.
Hope you are enjoying being apart of the forums. Feel free to ask any questions 🙂
