Hi BgEd, welcome to the forums.  We can see you've started another thread to seek support from the community which is great.  That's what the forums are here for and we'll do our best to help you.

The donation appeal you're seeing on our front page at the moment is for our 24/7 counselling support service.  We are currently experiencing unprecedented demand for this service, as there are many people like yourself in need of support.  This service is not funded by government, it is entirely dependent on donations  from members of the public to keep running and answer the many thousands of calls we receive each year.

I can see when you click on that link currently it's taking you directly to a donation page without providing some context for why we're asking for donations.  We'll pass this onto the web team for correction.

G'day BgEd...
I see your frustration. I call them for support and they hang up on me.. guess I got to make a donation first before they worry about the "blue collar" regular people. But I'm sure they'll still get their taxpayer funded government handouts either way..

Hi John1234, welcome to the forums.  I'm glad you found your way here to reach out after it sounds like you got disconnected when speaking to our support service.

I can assure you that it is not necessary to donate to Beyond Blue to access our support service, which is entirely funded by donations from the public, not government.  If you're unhappy with the service you received, we'd encourage you to get in touch with us privately to provide more information about what happened and we'll look into it: https://www.beyondblue.org.au/about-us/contact-us/complaints

Now that you're on the forums, we hope you'll feel comfortable in talking through whatever is on your mind in a thread of your own.  Your worries and concerns are important, and our community of peers are here to listen when you're ready.
