Hi there..
Just cant seem to get a break. 4 days before Christmas i got let go from my job as my employer wanted to put a family friend on instead (small family business). It took me ages to find this job back in june when i started...All our credit cards are maxed out and cant make repayments not to mention our other loans we have, kids heading back to school soon and stressing about where money for new school stuff is gunna come from... cant get any help from centrelink cause my husband earns "to much apparently" we can't even afford groceries.
I feel so low and like a waste of space. Every job I apply for .. you hear nothing back.. I have been on anti depressants for a while now. Just seems worse lately...
anyone have any advice on how to not feel so miserable, depressed and stressed. I just sit at home and cry all day don't wanna leave house...
Gotta be more to life than this....
thanks.

Hi
Welcome to BB. Even though you dont qualify for Centerlink you may still be able to get a low income health care card.
Best would be to go into your local Centerlink and ask them to help with applying. That will at least let you get help with bills, medical and also alot of community centres have food banks with heavily discounted groceries as in $15 gets around 3 bags full for health care card recipients.
You might have income protection attached to your super. Ring and ask its only a call worse they can say is no..
Contact Wesley mission they are great at helping people out and really nice people.
Might be a good idea to go to see your GP and have a talk. I know taking the steps i just told you made a world of difference to me when i was in your position.
Its not easy to see a bit of light in the dark but we are all here to help you now.

Hey Teka,
Welcome to the forums and thanks for being here.
Okay so it sounds like you've got a long going on for you right now and that your biggest issue is financial worries. I imagine that it must be pretty overwhelming for you. Who do you have as your support system right now?
Given that financial concerns are your biggest, let's start there. Obviously I have to protect your anonymity but there are services around to try and help you make things work.
There's this website that I'll link to below and it's called Ask Izzy - it will ask you about your location and point you in the right direction. This includes everything from food, financial help and counselling. I strongly suggest you start here -
https://askizzy.org.au/
Hopefully this can be a really helpful step for you. It might also be worth having a chat to your GP about what's going on. You're right - there is more to life than this. I think it's hard right now but I don't think it has to be hard for long.
Hope this helps,
