Hi, I’m a 16 year old female and live with a single Mum. I love writing and reading. I just finished a pilot spec! I have major social anxiety and have NVLD which I’m going to assume none of you know of. I struggle with social cues. Time management. Hand eye coordination. Self care. Spacial awareness and have depression. I’ve experienced DV. I start year 11 soon. 💜
Thank you and I hope to help others and get some advice and support too!

Welcome to the forums though! 😊😊😊 I'm new as well (just made my account today lol)
While I can't relate with most of your issues, I know it sucks to have all that sort of stuff going on in highschool...I'm 27 now so with that highschool life almost 10 years ago now, but still remember it like it was yesterday, and how tricky it was to navigate...just remember though, your enter/atar score isn't everything, and tbh year 11 is just another normal step up from year 10...just give it your best shot 😊😊

Dear Mudcakes~
I too would like to welcome you here to the Forum, it is a friendly place, which many people who have faced difficulties and this had given understanding and empathy.
You did list your interests as reading and writing, which are things I find a wonderful benefit. Retreat into the worlds written by others, and occasionally writing my own short accounts all make me feel more at peace and less overwhelmed by the less desirable parts of life.
Incidentally you did not list your courage in going to the right place and straight out asking the rules, or having a sense of humor, I too love your pic. Actually having humor is one of the great things, it puts so much into proportion.
The list of problems you have to deal with concerning your NVLD is pretty hard . Many people do have therapies to help, do you mind if I ask if you have medical care for them -as well as your anxiety and the aftermath of DV?
I'm not asking just to be nosy, it is because I found I never improved by myself, I had to have outside expertise and assistance. And although my anxiety, depression and other problems were from a different cause, I'd guess that having competent and specialized help and therapy can only do good.
Although my symptoms did not all match yours I found that time control was hard as my memory and sense of time was faulty, so I relied heavily on my smartphone to prompt me - do you do the same thing?
I liked Jack2021's post to you, I found it sensible and in some ways comforting.
While I'm asking questions could I ask what sort of reading you like -and if you want to say what sort of writing you do.
I like science fantasy and biographies of the film stars I liked.
I hope to hear from you again
Croix

Hey Mudcakes, and hey Jack, welcome.
I'm not sure what NVLD is so please excuse me not knowing, but I'm sorry you've experienced DV, anxiety and the other things you mentioned.
We're here for you.

I also saw you saying you write scripts for films and TV which I think is awesome!! How did you get into it?? Sounds super cool, I've never actually known anyone who does that haha...silly question as well, but what's a pilot spec? 😊

Bit about NVLD from google:
Nonverbal learning disorder (NVLD) is a learning disability that causes difficulty with motor, visual-spatial, and social skills. Children with NVLD are often well-spoken and can write well, but struggle with subtle social cues and comprehension of abstract concepts.
Nonverbal learning disorder (also known as NLD, or NVLD) is a learning disorder characterized by verbal strengths as well as visual-spatial, motor, and social skills difficulties.
💖 I don’t think much people know what it is. To be honest ASD is the only disorder people know of and gets funding straight away.
