Hi Amanda, welcome
You've explained yourself well.
With any mental illness concern your GP should be your default action and go from there. They are the first and most effective start to your journey of recovery.
However IMO its best to have a large variety of strategies- peer groups, learning new relaxation techniques, reading, medication, researching and support mechanisms.
So having said that this forum site has thousands of threads that you can access. If you got into the routine of reading say two a day your life will be enhanced.
As examples I've listed a few below. Use google
Topic: how I eliminated anxiety- beyondblue
Topic: the balance of my life- beyondblue
Topic: the best praise you'll ever get- beyondblue.
Repost in those threads or here. Welcome again to this forum.

Hi
Wwlcome to BB. First go see a GP if you have a Medicare card alot bulk bill. If not it's around $75 I think but depending on what country you came from ie New Zealand has a reciprical agreement with Australia. If you hold residency here your entitled to a Medicare card. A GP can issue you with a new prescription for your meds

Hi Bertie,
Thanks for that. It really helped a lot knowing that a GP here can re-prescribe me.
