Hi,
like so many others I don’t know what I’m doing. I feel lost. So much is happening in my life & I feel like im drowning. My GP has changed my medication & I’m having terrible withdrawals, which is making things worse (bad insomnia, crazy itchy - what’s with that & no appetite- & it’s Easter!!) I suppose I can still try to crack a joke, but I don’t laugh. I’m seeing a psychologist, but with work & kids I don’t get to see her regularly enough & I don’t feel it’s enough support. I don’t have anyone I can talk to, except my wonderful husband, but I get so tired of dumping everything on him. I’m so sick of telling the kids Mummy has a “headache” or is tired & wants to go to bed. I feel like the worst mum. I know I’m not the only one who is in this situation, but I feel so lonely. It’s almost 4am & I don’t want to ring an anonymous person at Life Line. I just want someone to ask me am I ok & to want to listen.
Thanks for reading. There are so many of us out there. I don’t feel like this will get read. But it’s a step for me to post.

Hi AxW,
I hope you don’t mind if I extend a caring welcome to you here 🙂 I’m glad you decided to reach out...
Your first line about feeling lost is something that I can personally relate to. Even if our experiences and struggles might not be identical, I just wanted you to know you’re not alone...
You sound understandably very overwhelmed and frustrated with all the changes and pressures. Adjusting to your new meds must be very disorienting and rough as well...
I suppose that I just wanted to say hello and let you know that your loneliness, hurt and frustrations are very much heard. You’re always most welcome to come back here to write some more as we would love to support you (only if you wish). I feel there are a lot of kind people around here.
Kind thoughts,
Pepper

Hi AxW, welcome
We are like you, birds of a feather. We have been where you are at right now. Some can relate to it, call it "burnout" or fragile or snowed under. What ever the reason you can make a change.
See, professional medical staff like GP's, psychs and counsellors all have their place and are crucial to recovery, what ever that level might be. Peer groups like ours might be less impacting but are important for many people because you are talking to those that know what its like and can have some suggestions.
With our fragility we need protection, a buffer zone between us and the things that cause us to "drown" as you say. This buffer, a fortress I call it, has a gate and a moat and you can allow things to enter or leave. You have control. Control is important for you.
So some things you might immediately send out of your fortress are- toxic people (those that do not positively assist your life), bills (do direct debit and introduce a budget), employment, career change, country living from city, etc
It explained better in the following thread. use google
