The best advice I’ve had so far for projecting forward was to try to focus on the Just right now most things in my life are ok , just right now
good luck Paul

About 4- 6 weeks
I felt better after about week 3 . If you need meds , get them . Don’t sit and suffer, life is too short . Thats my advice

Hello Paul, welcome and there have been many different comments made so far on your thread, and that's good.
If you're struggling with anxiety then projecting into the future is going to make you feel unsure of yourself because you are not able to guarantee it will happen, and that's no fault of yours, as who is to know what will be the situation in 2 or 5 years time.
Life changes so quickly as does technology and in times where you are hopeful of achieving an invented scenario, I wish you all the luck I can imagine, but don't be hard on yourself if it doesn't eventuate, we need to take it day by day until we are able to rationalise the cause and with a mental illness this doesn't happen.
Would love to hear of any ideas you may have.
Geoff.

Hello Faith57, the general rule is that AD's take about 6 weeks to work, whereas some people they work much quicker.
It's difficult to predict a time when you are starting them, and I'm not qualified to say this, but it depends on the situation you're in and all the different circumstances that are affecting your life.
I know myself that I felt a change immediately with a couple of AD's as they had a sexual dysfunction to them, that's when my GP changed them straight way.
The GP may ask you how you are feeling after 6 weeks and if you don't feel any different, then they will review the situation.
To exercise is suggested but there are some people like myself who couldn't find the strength nor the inclination to walk to the end of the street even though it was always said to me, however, instead I'd go and paint the outside windows, although many people found this to be strange, maybe it was, but it was my escape.
Best wishes.
Geoff.
