I’m a 42yo GWM, although I have not been active for a number of years. I find lately that I am looking for an LTR with someone super special, but I rarely go to clubs or anywhere pretty much as my social anxiety really plays up on me.i always fear that I don’t have anything interesting to say to people and that they will find me boring or stupid, which I’m not. 🙂 I need some suggestions about how to overcome my irrational fears and start to enjoy life again. I also find that because of my tall height that people are always staring at me or are extremely intimidated by me. Any suggestions on how to overcome these issues would be greatly appreciated. I know I am worthy of love and desire it desperately. Thankyou for reading.

Hi Conscared,

I just wish to put my views forward to you and hope it helps you, at very least, you know someone is listening and trying to help.

I can understand your worry about "fitting in" with your interests, but holding them back is not working for you either. I cant guarantee that everyone else will be interested but I am sure there are some out there that will, and by holding them back, you are not allowing them to see you.

As for height, it can seem intimidating but it is not what will be intimidating the most. It sounds like you need to relax and just be you, put on a friendly smile, and instead of people seeing you as a threat or intimidating, they will start to think of you as a sweet, gentle, friendly giant, all this from just showing a smile.

What I suggest is if you go out to meet someone, or out socializing, just don't expect anything to happen (but be hopeful), be yourself, be comfortable that you are going to go out and just enjoy your time with others, let them see you as the friendly giant and I am sure you will eventually find what you seek, in the mean time, you will find friends, and generally start enjoying life.

Of course I am no professional either, and if you need more expert help you could try calling the help lines like Lifeline and the Beyond Blue phone numbers, they are there to help.

Anyway, thats my view on things, I hope this helped
