Hi there. I'm new here so hope I'm doing the right thing. I've been feeling pretty bored and lonely in my life at the moment. I have only one close friend who has been my best friend for many years who lives nearly 3 hours away from me but has a job and a family. I on the other hand, have no job, no girlfriend and no local friends to hang out with so I spend most days at home either studying or watching TV. I am very close to my family who I live with but I would just like to do something different every once in a while but I don't know where to start.

Hi there,
First of all - Welcome! It’s great that you’ve found us here. It’s a really good place to hear from others who can relate.
It sounds like you’re curious about what else might be out there for you and it can definitely feel overwhelming thinking about where to start. What types of things spark interest for you? Is there anything in particular that you find yourself drawn to? Following that sense of curiosity can lead us towards things that bring us more enjoyment in life and potentially more people who have a similar interest. It can feel overwhelming to start something new, so one way it can feel less daunting is to say to yourself “I’m going to try this for one time/half an hour and just see how it goes”. Small steps!
No matter what you decide, it is a real strength to be proactively considering what else you can add to your life to bring you some enjoyment. We hope that you can share any updates with us here.
Take good care of yourself!
Kind regards
Sophie M
