This is more a curiosity than a real concern for me at the moment.
I was on ADs a few years ago, i took them as a last resort because i honestly feared for my life. Was already getting therapy. Anyway after my situation changed for the better and my triggers resolved i started feeling better-from situation rather than the medication (i felt they did help) as i felt better i started getting annoyed, even angry that i needed medication just to feel 'normal', not happy, just normal. I stopped taking them shortly after and have not felt the need for them until recently.
My question is, has anybody had these feelings or heard of this before?
Please dont read this and thing im against them. They have their place and work well for most people. They worked when i needed them to. This was only after therapy and my situation changed for the better.
Thanks

I haven't been on AD's but have some in case I need to but wanna go with as little as po, working from inside but agree that's not saying meds don't work cause Iknow a few that can't get by without, better to take than suffer aye.
Good on you btw that the situation improved and I imagine you worked on it too?
This will bump up so you may get some more replies 🙂

I understand that some people refuse to take them because of the side-effects or feel as though they feel lower than someone else who doesn't have to take them, but we're talking about a very powerful illness that will return at any opportunity it can, so we have to recognise those trigger points but you may need a hand so that you can avoid them in the future, sometimes it's impossible unless we take our medication.
It puts you one step ahead, it's in your system and believe there is a period where you need to stay on them, again I'm not a doctor, but I will be taking my AD probably for the rest of my life, a quality of life is so much better than continue to struggle on. Geoff.
