My partner has suffered from depression for many years, long before we met. Has was managing it quite well until recently.
He has been extremely down, feeling overwhelmed, stressed and unable to think straight. This is affecting him running his business.
I myself had suffered depression for many years in my past relationship which was situational. I recovered once I left that marriage. My partners depression is chemical so he is told he will always need to be on medication.
With his sudden downturn, I have tried to find therapy in any shape and form. He wants to get better.
Has anyone had experience with themselves or family/friends trying hypnotherapy for helping with depression and anxiety? Has it worked? Do you have any recommendations?
thank you in advance

Dear Breathl355~
I have tried quite a long course of hypnotherapy for depression, anxiety and PTSD. It was a long time ago. This consisted of weekly sessions over a period of months. Unfortunately in my case it did not have a lot of effect, however it might have that my mental state from the PTSD with trust issues did not allow full participation.
Please do not take this as being anything other than one person's experience at a difficult time.
The only recommendation I have, other than professional support, is in relation to lifestyle with exercise, nutrition and sleep to remain healthy, reduce background stress, avoid known triggers and provide distraction and enjoyment.

Thank you Croix
Hopefully it works on my partner. We’re putting a lot of money towards it in the hope it will help him. But we are well aware that there’s a chance it won’t.
He gets irritated easily which I hope doesn’t affect the treatment. It’s sad because I’ve seen him at his best when he is the most kind hearted humble sweet person but unfortunately this has affected the relationship. Fingers crossed.
