Hair loss and unusual bruising on antidepressants?

Hello,
I noticed recently that when I shower my hair is falling out more than usual, it's not super excessive but I'm losing maybe 2-3 times more than normal for me. I also discovered several bruises but I am almost certain I didn't hit myself on anything. Some of the blemishes are more like clusters of broken capillaries rather than regular bruises.
This began about 2 weeks ago and for a while there I wasn't sure why it could be happening until I finally added it up and the only thing that has changed is that almost 3 weeks ago my psychiatrist increased my antidepressant dosage. I've done a bit of research and I saw that these are some of the relatively uncommon side effects.. I guess I didn't think it could possibly be related because I didn't experience anything like this when I initially began taking the antidepressant on the lowest dose.
Should I tell my doctor and is this something particularly concerning or will just it pass? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thankyou

dear GOnz, welcome to the site, and placing your comment.
What I would do is go to your doctor and get them to authorise a full blood test, because bruising could be that your platelets are low, in which case it courses you to bruise.
You should mention what is happening to you and they may decide to change your medication, and because it's been increased means that it's not having the full effect on you, so yes please contact them. Geoff.

Hi Geoff thankyou very much for your response.
I spoke with one of the nurses at my clinic and she advised me to make an appointment with a GP so I did. She said she doesn't think there's cause for concern and that there could be many reasons for my hair loss and bruising.. I left a message with my psychiatrist as well but unfortunately he's only there once a week.
I'll ask about getting a blood test done.
Thanks again
