Scared mum of teen

Not sure if I am allowed here as it is not about me, but my daughter.
she is 13 and has recently plummeted into a deep darkness. She had low points earlier in the year but this time is much worse. She is talking about life not being worth living and she started self harming.

We are seeking professional help but I am at such a loss about how to help her. Hoping to gain some insight here. Thank you!

Dear TBea5878,

I am so happy my words lifted you up a bit, I am so grateful for this community 😊

I just wanted to add about the babysitting. You are 12 and my daughter is 13 so quite young. I just wanted to let you know how we got around that for the babysitting. She cares for a 4 yr old (we said 3-8 would be OK) while the parents are at home. We suggested this may be helpful for families where the parents are working from home or have a baby to focus on. This way their kid is entertained but my daughter is not alone with the responsibility of a young kid. She is very reliable but it just seemed a bit much to put all that pressure on her. We had 4 interested families respond to our ad so it’s clearly a good model.
just saying this in case it may help you too 😊
