Hey ScaredycatInc,
Welcome to the forums, we are really grateful that you have taken such a brave and important step in reaching out here tonight. We are so sorry to hear that you're struggling with suicidal thoughts, but please know that you never have to go through this alone, and support is always available to you. Our Support Service is trying to reach out to you via email as we are worried about you.
Can we ask if you are you currently receiving mental health support or have in the past? If not, we would urge that you do seek professional support to help you work through these thoughts that you're experiencing. If you are not sure of how to access mental health support, our Beyond Blue Support Service is here for you 24/7 on 1300 22 4636. We would also strongly urge that in overwhelming moments like these, you get in touch with our friends at Lifeline (13 11 14) or the Suicide Call Back Service (1300 659 467).
We would really urge that you create a safety plan to help you cope in dark moments. You can do this through our page “BeyondNow suicide safety planning” https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/beyondnow-suicide-safety-planning
Please know that our kind community are here for you to offer as much support and advice as you need through this difficult time, and we hope that you keep updating your thread here with what you are thinking and feeling, whenever you feel ready to.

Hi, welcome
I don't know much about you, which is like to. But here goes.
If I could wipe away one tear
And talk you through the night
Those clouds might blow away
And all you'll see is light...
I'm a 64yo happily married guy. Never used to be happy though. My bro and uncle took their lives. My sister and I attempted about 25 years ago. I've been where you are now.
So, apart from the possibility of then leaving my young children fatherless, I had no idea how to overcome the event, like you now. Like anything in life I had to learn.
I realised- my first priority is survival. Whatever it takes. But I soon learned that that often only meant -CHANGE. I bought a 2 man tent for $30 and drove to the Bush overnight, a fire, marshmallows, stars, tranquility. Those without a car- erect the tent in the backyard.
So we now use our caravan for that therapy.
Spirituality. Not religion, unless you want that. Firstly Google this - YouTube maharaji sunset.
He has many other videos there. Find peace.
Purpose- I only found direction when I began helping people and animals. Find your purpose.
Removing toxic people- some of us tolerate abuse, manipulation, gaslighting etc. Remove them!.
Google- Beyondblue topic fortress of survival
Self praise. Sometimes there is not enough people supporting us.
Google- Beyondblue topic the best praise you'll ever get
Medical. Seek a GP you are comfortable with and trust him/her. Seek therapy.
One day you'll see that light and realise- you made it. You survived. Then you might reach out to a person in distress like I am here.
What do you think? Chat away.

Hi and welcome to beyond blue forums. Just a short post from me as the earlier posters were spot on. My only addition is to talk. Whatever is on your mind, find someone you trust and can talk to. Or your GP. Please believe me when I say that you are worthy of help, support. That you have posted here shows strength and courage. Can you please tell more of your story?
Peace, Tim
