When is the last time you can remember feeling totally at peace?

I put the above question into the Cafe this week and to use a fishing analogy, got a couple of bites. 🙂 A little birdie suggested a thread be created on this topic. Finding, identifying, writing about moments in our lives when we can remember feeling totally at peace. You can reply more than once if you like, after all, we would each hope that feeling of being at peace will be repeated more than once in our lives?
Here is a space where you can tell a story about the last time you were at peace. It may become a suggestion to someone else and inspire them into action?
For me... my story relates to a walk in the gardens a while back. A time with no negative thoughts. But you will have to wait until I get back from shopping to hear my story.
So the question to reflect upon and answer is this...
When is the last time you can remember feeling totally at peace?

Hi Tim and thanks for getting back to me.
I didnt mean to stray off your thread topic with mental health...sorry..its just the peace that I experienced after the 7 months of weekly therapy after I was in denial for so so long
To answer your thread topic properly............the last time I felt totally at peace was pre anxiety and snow skiing at Mt Hotham and at Mt Buller...It was wonderful to have a truly peaceful experience with the Rossignol gear on and bolting down a mountain.....ahhh
Thanks Tim....It was a time of total peace...

Paul,
I don't think that you took the thread off topic at all. Sometimes a long background is needed to setup the climax of the story. Your buildup was that period of time talking to the other person. In our lives there are moment that will stick out more than others, and times when something fun might have the same impact on us.
Do you or are you able to go back there? And can I ask how long ago that was?
I have been in snow 2 times - the first time there was not enough snow for skiing and the second time I was watching over a bunch of school kids with my wife - she was a teacher and we were number of teachers/parents looking after the kids on a "camp". The worst part about the trip was it that by bus from Bris to Sydney to Canberra and back again.

I actually can't remember! although obviously I've had peaceful, wonderful moments.
Next week I'm going away up the coast a bit and I'm sure to feel that peace there at some point 🙂

Hi anxious_me,
Welcome to this thread.
If it was not for that walk I did I might be in the same boat as you.
Depression for me results in forgetting moments like that I described above. Writing it down (here) creates a reminder for me of a place and time that I can revisit. And perhaps in others stories.
When you get back from your trip you will have tell us? I am sure you will be able to create some moments.

Thanks for your reply Tim. And it's been nice reading other's moments in this thread 🙂
Yes, once I'm back and have spent some time watching waves, and listening to birdsong I'll have peace to share...
If we can just get over this heat!
