What is your biggest (non mental health condition) achievement?

Was watching, "The Voice" last night and there was a young lass who didn't leave the house for two years because of panic attacks, how here she is on National TV singing in front of four judges.

I sat back and thought that even if no one turns around and picks her, she has already won - what a brilliant achievement that was.

What is your biggest achievement?

Mine is overcoming PTSD and functioning quite well but the mental health conditions aside, I would have to say completing my first marathon. A pure punishment of the mind and body and I completed this in the early days of my recovery when i was quite wounded and struggling.

To be able to push myself to complete it gave me a massive burst of confidence that I can overcome the PTSD beast and get on with life.

Hello everyone, it is wonder to see all these achievements, I though I would share.

I have shamefully struggle with reading and writing since I was a child, that is almost 32 years of being a functional illiterate. After losing another job due to poor illiteracy, making that the 7th forced career change, I finally reached out for help last year through the Read and Writing hotline. They hooked me up with a volunteer tutor which I see every Saturday. Since then I have made great progress. This is the first time I have come back to this forum without needing someone to type or read back for me.

Wow Banjoman,

You made me cry, that is so awesome, good for you.

Hows that name change going?

Your not funny,(I think you are)

brain hurts when I try to think of new name😳

For a diagnosis of learning disabilities was going to cost me $1200

So I told them to shove it up there

Hey 9 names.

I imagine some university could be keen to diagnose learning disabilities in adults for free. Try giving them a ring.

Also, I am keen to read your thread regarding your thought and experiences with having a learning disability.

thank you,
