Hey to anyone reading this.
Last night I had an idea about starting a new thread about exercise especially walking. I am aware that walking is very beneficial for our mental, emotional and physical well being. And by actually doing it....well it can make a huge difference to how we cope with the storms that we face in life.
OK, I am not real good at disciplining myself to walk, and have to really push myself to do it. And sometimes it is even hard to leave this bedroom. Anyway I am not a beginner walker, as I have stuck to sort of a plan before. So I know that it does make me feel somewhat better. But I only stayed on the plan for a couple of months, then gave up.....for whatever reason. So here I am again wanting desperately to not fail this time.
So I guess this thread is for anyone that does walk, anyone that is struggling to walk because of depression or anxiety issues. And anyone else really......
I am unsure of the outcome of all this. But my ideas included: Sharing about things we have found out about exercise especially about walking. Writing down the reasons that one would chose to walk ( like something to help motivate). Being accountable in same way. Sharing about the places where we actually do walk, like the beach, gym, around the block, with the dog, out to the clothesline and back. And any other useful tips that could help others. So here we go......

Hi Topsy, Shelley and all reading,
Thanks for sharing hear Topsy, it is encouraging to read what other people are up to.
After a back injury, all I could manage was a walk down the 20 metre long driveway and back. Later on I progressed to the tree in the middle of the front yard, then past the neighbours. It was lovely to just be outside.
If it is raining, do you have umbrellas you could use and rain jackets?
Guess with lock downs around the place it is hard to go to a shopping centre to walk in winter these days.
I had a lovely walk yesterday in another area of nature, saw some kangaroos and different plants growing I have not noticed before. It was lovely being surrounded by creation.
Cheers to you all from Dools

Hi Dools
I'm glad you had an enjoyable walk yesterday. You have a lovely way of describing what you see, I almost feel like I’m there too. It’s raining here today & they're predicting more for the rest of the week as well as snow at the end of the week.
We used to have an umbrella- I don’t know what happened to it. No raincoats though. I checked our temperature just before lunch. It was 7 but felt like -0.9. I don’t know how they work that out!
Must go now. Cheers to you all, T.

Hi Topsy,
You sound like you enjoyed getting out in the fresh air and to walk, even if you think it was a short distance. If you enjoy it, that can really help motivate to go more. Being in the fresh air often makes me feel better. Do you breathe in deeply the air?
Your hubby sounds pretty positive too, despite the falling over and getting all those bruises on himself.
I was not sporty when I was younger either. And hated sport at school. Though I did like ten pin bowling.
Ah snow.. Beautiful.
Cute Ted too, and that is a lot of fur isn't it?

Hi all, I haven't been out walking for a few days. But hoping to get on out there today. I can see the sunshine from my bedroom window, it does look nice out.
Mrs D When I visited Tasmania. I bought an umbrella whilst down there. It was a rainy day with wind. Didn't really give this much thought... but as soon as I walked out the store and along a bit outside, the umbrella simply twisted and turned inside out.

Good morning Shelll, good to read your walking expeditions.
My wife's best friend cancelled on their friday morning walk, called off due to heavy rain.
But that meant I could spend a bit of time with wife, and we learnt the french words for "I love you."
Je vous aime

Oh what a special time you had with your wife, learning the French words for I love you. Its sweet.
I really liked looking and looking at your profile picture. Reason being...their are a few things in my life that look like giants. Like enormous complicated, sometimes overwhelming issues. I don't know how to work it out. Too big for me.
Then you have David, I boy who in God's strength conquered this Giant Goloith. Even when no one else could. I guess he trusted God and maybe he wasn't even afraid. God was on His side. I long to be like this. Anyway thankyou for your picture.
And maybe the weather will clear up soon, so you can walk some

Arvo Shelll!
I notice our two profile pictures near each other. Mine of males fighting. Yours of females cooperating. Both simple pictures, yet as you say enormously complicated. So I take a crack at it...
What might your little girl in the red sleeves carrying something in her grey pot, what might she have in that pot of hers that could slay a ginormous armoured spiked veteran soldier?
Could our little girl have the spiritually same thing in her pot, that David had in his sling?
Would this girl give food to goliath to salve his soul and cure him of violence? ...and thus separate the Palestine's army from the Israelites army?
Perhaps, shall we consider her food that maybe in the grey pot, an apple stewed in knowledge, like Eve originally took from off the tree in the garden, and Shelll's profile pictured red sleeved little girl is restoring the horror of man kinds eviction from the Garden of Eden.
Peace unto us all.

Hey David,
From my high school French, je vous aime is formal way of saying I love you. For someone you have a close relationship with you can say je t’aime (it’s a contraction of je tu aime, tu being the informal way of saying you).
We also learnt “How are you going?” = “Comment t’allez vous?”
Later on we were taught simply “Ca va?” (This c in ca sounds like an s)
I can only recall a smattering of what I learnt at school but I did enjoy it at the time.
Au revoir, T.

Hi
Today I went out walking on the breakwall again. The ocean and port looked calm. But it was super windy. I think I use to think, if its windy then the ocean would be rough. But that just must not be right. Anyway it was good to get on out there. At the end we spotted 1 common dolphin.
The French way of speaking is lovely. Not sure why, maybe romantic sounding. Idk.
David I did attempt to work out what you said about the little girl in the picture. I guess my brain got muddled up. I didn't understand.
