We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.

Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!

Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.

Best wishes

SB, another self-care would be to still have a muffin or two not yet eaten today. [LRC likes muffins so hopes to grab one off you] Good self-cares today. Although I like singing & mucking about with music, I haven't managed to write a song. I reckon i's a cool thing to do.

My self-care is about the planned power outage affected me tonight.

I've checked & am certain I know where my meds are to take tonight.

I have my dinner ready, (to ease anxiety about that, whenever there is no power),

I have my exercise equipment also where I know I'll find them later.

There are more things I'm preparing today, but these feel like the most important to me.

Hugzies everyone

mmMekitty, you can have a muffin too! Here *passes tray of freshly made triple chocolate muffins*

I had another muffin today so that forms the first of my three self-cares:

  1. Having a muffin 🙂
  2. Going shopping with Dad for a bit, we don't really get to spend much time together now that we have quite opposite schedules
  3. Listening to more music that fits a situation I've gone through recently

Yum yum muffins 😋

My self cares were:

  • Going for a walk. I had some stress build-up in my nervous system and it feels like it has helped alleviate it.
  • Wrote my thoughts down earlier about stuff I've been struggling with including some decision-making and upcoming challenges. It helped me sort the confusion and mixed emotions and troubled thoughts.
  • Worked on some photography stuff on the computer and also watched some instructional, interesting and entertaining photography-related YouTube videos.

Looks like it's been a bit quiet here for a while. Hoping I can encourage some more self care with throwing in some of my own recent ones, and there have been some big ones lately:

- Quit my job that I hate!

- Pushed through with applying for NDIS and now my application has been accepted, yay!

- Have put together a package of stimmy things to make me feel better.

Kind thoughts to all,

Blue.

Congratulations on your application being accepted Blue!

My self-cares for today:

  1. Lovely relaxing shower
  2. Heading off on a much-needed camping trip with friends
  3. Positive manifestations/affirmations this morning when I woke up

Blue, I’m really glad your application was accepted.

sbella, I hope you’re really enjoying your camping trip.

My three:

  1. Had helpful session with my psychologist and a significant amount of the extreme distress I’ve been experiencing has alleviated. Plans to work on early core memories/feelings/beliefs with EMDR which I think is going to be helpful.
  2. Rested on bed when exhausted.
  3. Made plans for future photography ideas.

Thanks everyone for sharing, I appreciate the inspirational ideas here, sometimes it just takes little actions to greatly improve one's mental health and sense of well-being.

Yesterday I

1/ attended a Bible study, the first in years

2/ had a walk in a National Park

3/ enjoyed a picnic lunch at a lookout with a view over a valley
