We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.
Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!
Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.
Best wishes
EM

1. Talked to my neighbour and patted her dog.
2. Went to a cafe for lunch. I had food to eat at home but was very depressed, so made an effort to be around other people at the cafe to try and feel better.
3. Followed up regarding a medical appointment.

Animals and social time are great self cares. I’m feeling a bit off this week
- ate dinner
- had an extra long shower
- used a new hair product I was gifted by a very thoughtful friend, it feels really nice and smells like lavender

It’s nice to read people’s self-cares.
For me today:
1. Went out and did some wildlife photography.
2. Watched some relaxing tv programs about wild landscapes (Wales and then Kosciusko).
3. Learned some new skills on the computer and solved some technical issues by searching online until I found how to do things.

Today, I persisted with my efforts to get some computer maintenance done, & actually think I did get my iPhone backed up, at least I think so...
Then realised I could check a setting to fix a problem with how my iPhone was acting as if I don't have Voice Over on when I am typing or entering text or phone numbers... That was a relief.
Then I decided I had enough of trying to figure out why so many of my passwords were not being recognized. ...
(& I just noticed how to make this text field fill in a suggested finish of a word as I am typing. On my keyboard, I use the right arrow to use the suggested word)
... & decided to stop & call someone who might help, thenh have a late lunch of salad sandwich.
Since I want a lot done, upgrade my hardware & software, accessories, the people I called asked me to send more info. I actively decided to finish my lunch before responding to their email.
& then, as if to make up for not having something else to write heare yesterday, I made a couple more emails to send, because I was unaware those people share information about me, soI could recieve a survey & potentially marketing material too... I feel fed up with people assuming they can pass on our personal details for this or any purpose without our direct & explicit consent. These companies that set up & send out surveys for various companies & organisations have a lot of people's information stored, eh? What if they are hacked?
So, I feel I did a little good today, letting those businesses know. I am sure I will make my displeasure known more in the future.
Thursday, I was doing medical stuff. Even got my flu shot, (prepared for possible adverse effects. just in case that happened again), & it was okay. I didn't give up when it seemed the GP was going to dismiss my concerns as just my getting older. Now I have an appointment wit a specialist, although it's not until mid June. I had to also assure her I would pay for a private specialist, even if Medicare doesn't help. Bulk billing very unlikely - I knew that.
I feel a happy vibe reading this thread. I'm proud of the efforts we make, especially when the mood is low, or the confidence is low, & it takes courage to keep reaching out, when it feels so easy to stop, sit & do nothing, which as we know, doesn't help the mood or how we feel about ourselves.
Hugzies all,
mmMekitty

Hi again
I did do a good workout today. I missed the workout Tuesday because of the public holiday, so I think my workout today was harder because of that. I can't do all the types of exercises at my home that I can do there with their machines. I'm okay with what I did today.
I had some calamari for lunch, feeling too tired, (not because of exercising), & salad later, after a snooze.
I have been trying to not snooze during the day, but today, I allowed it - just too tired & thinking I will feel better for it & then be able to talk here more this evening.
& I am drinking more water today, too. The lemon wedge I had with my calamari, I squeezed the juice out of into some soda water. That's like a bonus!

Nice self-cares everyone.
For me:
1. In recovery from a migraine so I’ve come to a nearby forest spot that is really peaceful as I gradually improve.
2. Ate a vegan patty for lunch, the first food I’ve been able to stomach since Saturday. It was yummy and it’s a good sign I enjoyed it.
3. Learning to accept my limits with my health. I’ve found this hard to do over the years, always being a relentless optimist, but having to accept I need a lot of rest and a slower pace of existence.

Hi Everyone,
1/ I had a quiet day, restful, little energy to do much and accepted that.
2/ Went for a longer walk than usual and took the time to stop and look at things
3/ Applied for a job and recognised I may not be called for an interview, I congratulated myself for taking the action I did
