Small achievement you managed to do today....How did it make you feel? Did it help you feel better today?

Hi everyone..

Their are days when just getting out of bed is a huge achievement...Other days we can achieve things like washing up the dishes or clothes, sweeping the floors, mopping the floors..very mundane and automatic robot like chores for the mentally well...They do these chores without even thinking about them...for people struggling with their mental health..these are huge tasks...

Very often I’ll get my vacuum cleaner out to vacuum ...then it will sit their for days, me looking at it, walking over it...until I can get motivated enough to vacuum..after I do find the motivation to vacuum...I am pleased with myself...
Right now I have a small foot cycling peddle machine, sitting on my front veranda..I got it out last week..to start exercising..it’s still their, I’m still looking at it...My thoughts each night is I’ll use it for a few minutes tomorrow..

My car hasn’t been washed getting close to a year now I think...Today I did managed to wash it....and discovered that it has a nice shine on it.....I did it...I achieved something positive today..which made me feel better in myself...

Have you achieved a little something today...and how did it make you feel...If you want to share that achievement it might make other people a bit more motivated to achieve something they need/want to do..

Looking forward to hearing about your achievement....and how it made you feel..

Little steps and achievements can lead to bigger steps..and bigger achievements...

My kindest and most caring thoughts...everyone.
Grandy...

Hello everyone…🤗❤️..

Well done on your achievements….

I feel a bit pleased with myself today…both yesterday and today I shaved one dog each day…I was a shaky mess when I started a bit afraid but I pushed through and done them….not a really good job but they must feel much more cooler…One of my dogs, the first one I done I noticed when she walks that I kind of left a um..I think Mohawk…not on her head or back…on her belly…unfortunately after yesterday’s grooming session she’s in flight mode whenever I go to pick her up…maybe after a couple days she might forget and I can get rid of the Mohawk….

I even cleaned my laundry which had fur everywhere….straight after each grooming….I think I will give me a little reward tonight….Tia Maria on ice…and a small freddo chocolate….

Do you sometimes give yourselves rewards after completing or even starting a chore..

Have a great night everyone…

Hugs, love and care..🤗❤️🌹..

Grandy,

Well done, grooming pets can be a challenging task depending on how patient or restless they are, so that's a good effort to shave both of your dogs!

I like to reward myself after chores with a lay down on the couch. It always feels more relaxing after you've finished things that you've been meaning to do! I did this today after finishing some laundry and dishes.

Hello dear Grandy, SB and All,

Well done Grandy on the dog grooming. Yes, they probably feel cooler as I imagine sheep do after being shorn. The first dogs I lived with did not like having a bath and it was incredibly difficult getting them in there. My housemate who owned them was away on a long work trip. Myself and my other housemate decided to get in a mobile dog wash. I still remember how hard it was getting them to go in that. But afterwards they were like new dogs and ran round and round the garden excitedly, like it felt so good to have a good clean. I remember they kept running through the plumbago bushes and so they had blue flowers decorating their clean coats. It was delightful.

When you mentioned the Mohawk it made me think of my back lawn. Because of where the septic tank is there is one section where the grass grows much longer than everywhere else which makes it look like my back lawn has a Mohawk 😂

My small achievement today was driving half an hour to a neighbouring town to do some grocery shopping. I went for a lovely river walk while there too. It felt good to have a change of scene as I haven’t been outside my town much lately. I also called a lovely relative and had a good chat and sent a supportive email to a friend who has struggles with anxiety she has been telling me about which I can relate to. I feel good that I got through those things. I’m quite tired now and just had a packet soup for dinner to make things easier this evening.

I do sometimes give myself a reward. Today it was buying a salted caramel protein bar, both gluten and dairy free as I don’t normally eat gluten or dairy. This was like a present to myself for getting my shopping done. It was on special so I thought I’d give it a try. It didn’t taste quite as good as I hoped, but it gave me some energy for the drive home. I also saw three emus today in a paddock while driving along the highway.

I hope everyone has a lovely week with some small achievements that make them happy 💖

My small achievement, was cleaning the house so my partner would come back to a clean house. I was tired and am not organised to clean well but I tried.

Hello everyone,

Sbella, it’s a nice feeling to finish laundry and dishes, well done and laying down sounds like a nice reward….my fur girls are not too much trouble to groom until it comes to their legs and they don’t want me touching them…..

Eagle Ray, I like how you went to another town to do shopping, walking along the riverbank sounds so peaceful….I hope the sun was out for you, I love the way the sun makes water look like it has diamonds floating on top of it….I feel as though you like exploring new areas…and discovering new things..

Quirky, well done sweetheart cleaning your house…I hope you also cleaned it for yourself as well as your partner….I remember how perfectly clean and shiny I had to have the house looking for when my husband came home from work….Now, it’s up to me, how clean I want it but depending on my my brain and how I’m feeling sometimes I can get trigged by an untidy house as well as a clean house….my mind sure is dumb at times…

Today I done some washing….my washing machine broke last month, so I’m hand washing until I can afford another one…not doing my shoulders much good though…trying to be careful is hard.  I need clean clothes for work, just wearing light summer dresses at the moment so not really heavy…..been sleeping on the lounge to save my sheets, doona cover etc from needing  to be washed….Once I have enough money to buy a new washing machine I will have to get past my anxiety to go to the bigger town to find one I am able to operate…then find someone to deliver it…most drivers/shops won’t deliver out my way unless big $$$ are added on….

Its a beautiful cooler day today, with lots of winds blowing…if I shut my back glass sliding doors just the right way…the wind makes a howling noise through it….natures music 🎼..

Enjoy your day today everyone…🌈🦎☘️🦨🐿️🦩🌳🌴..

Grandy..

Had a trigger when I was told there was a fire nearby but it was back burning. I felt weak at the knees and light headed. It grouchy back memories but I had a good cry and feel better. I dud nit fall apart and know will need to cope with seeing fires or actual fires.

Hello dear Grandy, Quirky, SB and All,

Quirky, I’m so sorry you had that trigger today. It was really good you could have a good cry and feel better from it. I think it’s better to let those emotions out. I can only imagine what it would have been like for you with the fire experience. It’s good knowing you didn’t fall apart and that you can release the emotions. We are always here for you anytime you need it.

Grandy, I hope you can find a washing machine soon. Years ago a housemate and myself found a man who restores washing machines and resells them. We bought one for just $70, so only $35 each. It was an old style one with a dial rather than the modern ones with electronic displays and buttons. It worked perfectly. It would be great if you could find something like that but you would need to know the repairer is reputable. You definitely want something in good working order. I know some retailers also have factory seconds stores where goods work fine but may have something like a cosmetic scratch that prevents them being sold in the main store. I bought both a new fridge and portable bench top oven from such a place and they worked well and still came with a warranty, but were cheaper because of very minor imperfections.

My first small achievement today was visiting a new doctor. I find going to doctors a scary experience based on some prior experiences so I am proud of myself that I went through with it and I think it went well. I may not see eye to eye with him on everything but he is at least partially on the same page, so it could be a constructive thing where I might get a bit further in relation to health struggles I’ve been dealing with.

My other achievement today was catching up with my friend and her almost one year beautiful baby. I really haven’t been feeling well but I’m glad I made the effort. My friend is the best mum to her daughter. I love playing games with her daughter who is at quite an interactive stage at the moment and so delightful. It is rewarding seeing her smile and laugh. She loves when I hide then reappear again and again. She was copying what I do and learns everything so quickly. So if I clapped she clapped, if I tapped my knees intermittently she did the same, if I tapped both knees at the same time she did the same. She is so observant. Next time I’m going to bring my guitar and do some songs for her. We also caught up with another mum and her baby boy in a park and he was so delightful too. It was a joy to be with those lovely people today 🥰

Wishing you all a lovely weekend 💕🌸💖🌼🤗

Happy Monday all,

Quirkywords, I'm sorry that you had a trigger event with fire. How wonderfully strong you must be to make it through without falling apart. That's something to be very proud of.

ER, your visit with friend and daughter sounds delightful. Your very writing shines with joy about the experience. I'm very pleased for you.

Grandy, handwashing sounds like hard work for you. I'm sorry I don't have any useful advice on how to get yourself a washing machine but have my fingers crossed that it won't take long.

Regards,

Grandy

do you have neighbour who would mind you using their washing time. I have let people use mine over the years.

Is it possible to get a good secondhand one  from market place, the op shop, or there are free places on Facebook where people give items away. You would need to pick it up or pay for delivery. Just a few suggestions but I know they may not suit you.
Does your town have a Laundromat.

Hello everyone……🤗..

Quirky, I’m so very sorry about you being triggered by news of a fire near by…So many memories and feelings would have been circling around your thoughts and body, holding yourself together and not falling apart is wonderful, well done sweet friend…

Hand washing has been very rough on my shoulders and I think I have reversed the effects of the cortisone shots I had last year….my arms are too sore and weak to do much of anything….I been just wearing light dresses etc to make it easier, the sheets, towels etc have been the heaviest to wash properly and hang out on the line, they really are heavy when full of water….Quirky their is a laundromat in town, which I did take some heavier clothes too, once inside I had to leave, it’s unattended, didn’t smell clean inside and had several men standing around talking, laughter etc which made me feel very uncomfortable the minute I walked in…

I did accomplish a bit of washing this week and also replaced a few vinyl tiles that has gotten damaged over a few years….wow it’s hard to get the old tiles off….because the sticky gluey bit stayed on the floor 😂😂😂

I hope everyone has a great day today…and accomplishes something they want to today, no matter how small or large your accomplishments are…you done what you could and that makes you all very awesome people…

Hug, care and love everyone…🤗🦋❤️.
