No fear, no loss, no tears,
The time is almost here.
Our dreams will all come true, I promise you,
'Cause I can see for miles and miles.
In time we'll be dancing in the streets all night (all night, all night).
In time, yes, everything will be all right (all right, all right).

I literally started dancing all night once a week after rediscovering this song. I was gonna sing it in a street karaoke booth but they couldn't find the song. oh well...

ooo I love this thread idea!
Some lyrics that always stick in my mind-
I mean this whole song resonates with me but specifically "what you don't have, you don't need it now. What you don't know, you can feel somehow" - Beautiful Day by U2

AND

"We will be alright in the afterlife"- Dog Years by Maggie Rogers. Now I want to explain this one because some people might misinterpret it. She wrote this song as she was graduating college, and she explained this line as how up until this point she knew what was coming in her life/what was expected, so she associated life after college as the "afterlife"- the unknown, the freefall. As someone who deals with MH issues, a lot of my life at times can feel uncertain/scary/unknown, but this whole song is a comforting reminder that everything will be okay. Maggie herself says the song is "about change, about loving and leaving and still loving, about trusting yourself, about trusting the universe..."

Hello PF, a great thread and one of many songs I always loved to listen a song sung by Whitney Houston 'The Greatest Love of All',

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be >>>>>>>>

Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all,

it always brought tears to my eyes, plus there are other great songs I'll mention later on.

Best wishes.

Geoff.

"And when you stare at your reflection, Finally knowing who it is, I know that you'll thank God you did" ~1800 273 8255, logic~ this song has made me break down and build up so many times

"You've got stars in your eyes, so let's paint the sky" ~hold on, extreme music~ relatable song and it just has this sense of hope which is so amazing

"I'mma be what I set out to be, without a doubt undoubtedly" ~not afraid, eminem~ this is just so empowering

"Find hope in the hopeless" ~train wreck, james arthur~ what can I say, sad song but also means so much more than that

another song in general that has been keeping me hopeful is 'never give up' by sia I mean you can't just pick out one line it's just overall such an empowering song

All wonderful responses everyone.

I really truly love it!!!!

Another set of lyrics that I love so much is from a Church song called ‘Under The Milky Way’

‘I wish I knew what you were looking for, might I know what you might find.’

And...

The Psychedelic Furs, haha. Love My Way.

‘There’s an army on the dance floor it’s a fashion with a gun, my love. In a room without a door a kiss is not a enough in. Love my way, it’s a new road. I follow where my mind goes.’

"I tell myself, keep breathing don't lose focus, I'm alive I'm not a diagnosis' brittle by icon for hire
This song is so powerful for me. We are so much more than our sicknesses or diagnosis', we aren't brittle but strong and resilient

At 17 some words that I related to.

I learned the truth at 17
that love was meant for beauty queens.

The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth

To those of us who knew the pain

Of valentines that never came

And those whose names were never called
When choosing sides for basketball

I was a misfit at 17 and still am so this song is mine,

I simply love Sarah Blasko's music and her lyrics speak to me on many levels. I have watched her perform a few times and she is divine.

This song I found a great comfort to me after a relationship break up many years ago.

Down on Love

Lately you've been down on luck
Crying out to the man above
I believe in miracles
But a miracle you can't control
You Gotta find the strength inside to lead you out of here
One step guides another 'til the way becomes clear
Lately you've been down on love
You believe that it's a poisoned cup
Love it takes a leap of faith
And faith will guide you all your days
All your life you've waited for someone to understand
To wake you up and speak your name and take you by the hand
How'd you lose your faith in life
That brought you to your knees tonight
I believe in answered prayers
But the answers are found everywhere
So open up your windows and unlock the doors
Hear them whispered in the night down cold lonely halls

Sarah Blasko once came into my shop and bought a book. Another customer to,d name who she was once she left as I had not heard of her.

this song helped me through my hard times.

Fire and Rain
Just yesterday mornin', they let me know you were gone
Suzanne, the plans they made put an end to you

I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song
I just can't remember who to send it to
I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again
Won't you look down upon me, Jesus?
You've got to help me make a stand
You've just got to see me through another day
My body's aching and my time is at hand
And I won't make it any other way
Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again
