Encouragement for weight loss and healthy eating

Hi Everyone.

I am just going to put this title out there and see what happens. Later on I will try to add old thread titles relating to this issue.

People may have wonderful weight loss stories to share, ideas on exercises that are beneficial, reducing binge eating tips etc.

Healthy recipes will also be welcome. Maybe even healthy foods you enjoy but your family consider to be rabbit food! Ha. Ha.

Unfortunately for depression sometimes means binge eating and comfort foods. A carrot just is not comfort food to my brain! I need to find ways to rechannel that way of thinking!

All ideas and thoughts are welcome here!

Cheers for now from Mrs. Dools

Sounds great Elizabeth.

How do you bake an apple in the microwave?

Hi Everyone

It sounds you are really motivated and disciplined Elizabeth, and that you are even feeling better or something. I am so happy for you. Good on you for keeping up with the walking too.

How did you go Carol today with the lite and easy. Are you having withdrawal symptoms from the chocolate or anything, but maybe you wouldn't even notice it much anyway.

The struggles I am having are being disciplined, I know what my plan is. I need to get healthier for some other reasons, that is my goal. Losing weight would be good too. My eating thing is not really a diet more a change of my lifestyle forever. So I have been going very slowly so that it sticks with me and permanently becomes a habit.

Carol you mentioned on the CAFE thread that you would look for recipes for me. It is,so kind of you to do that. And I appreciate you suggesting that. The truth is I just don't want to waste your time in doing that for me. I just want you to get well yourself. I have oodles of recipes that I have collected over the last year. And I am often watching YouTube plant based eating cooking shows. My problem is food addiction especially to refined sugar laden junk that just makes me sicker and sicker.

Well I best go to bed soon.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Hi all,

Quick update today. It has been 1 week on liteneasy. I have not exercised at all, I did have a handful of popcorn at a movie and 3 nights I ate liteneasy desserts.

I have lost 1.2kg which is a good start and I am getting used to the smaller portions now.

This is just eating food that comes under 1200 calories in the day.

I don't feel any better in my self esteem yet however I am using an app on my phone called Weight Tracker and it tells me that I will reach my goal by March next year if I keep losing at the same rate.

Carol well done with the weight loss so far - that's great (and in only a week) 🙂

Guess what - I have re-joined again today too .....YAY!!! My psychologist has made me realise I need to do things for me. And I want to lose weight and get fit. And I will make it work living with my Dad. Feeling positive about this small change.

Thanks Emmy.

Oh yay! That's exciting. We can swap notes on what dinners are good. What day do you get your delivery?

I am just about to have my dinner of spaghetti bolognese, it's one of my favourites.

Well done folks,

battled with weight over the years. An excercise and food junky. I'm in my heavy phase at the moment. My mental health continues to improve and once the weather warms up my dietary and excercise choices will improve.

Hi Mrs Dools, I posted above about how I lost a stack of weight but anyhow....

I Love pasta....San Remo Angel Hair....Beautiful...:-) I dumped it as well and the weight fell off me big time..quickly

It takes a lot of willpower to have a banana for brekky and a 220gram can of salmon/tuna with 1 cracker for lunch and a small dinner but it worked.

The occasional KFC is a must 🙂

Hi Paul,

You have done great. I couldn't eat a tin of fish for lunch each day but I can see how it would work.

I have an issue with my blood sugars too so I need to sort that out by eating smaller portions regularly. Lite'n'easy is helping with getting into that habit. Though anyone can do that themselves.

I think my biggest issue is just not feeling up to preparing fresh food. I like that this is all ready and the most I have to do is heat things in a microwave. I love fruit and veg. I actually really enjoy healthy food.

Moreso I don't have to think. It's all there, a good variety and I know if I don't eat anything else I will lose weight.

Hi Igbran, thanks. The weather does play a role in how we eat too. For example I find it harder to eat fresh fruit in winter because all my favourites are warmer weather fruits.

There have been some great tips and ideas. I am keeping note of them for when I am well enough to do my own food. Thanks all.

Cheers,

Carol

Hey Carol, sometimes the primary health concerns come first...eg..chronic pain would be a priority as my agoraphobia comes first with me...then I will deal with the diet. I wish I could order lite n'easy...they are based about 5klms away from here....yummy 🙂
