Does Pokemon Go make us healthier?

Hey everyone!

Just read a really interesting article on Vice about how many people who are experiencing mental illnesses are really enjoying Pokemon Go. I'm wondering if anyone has any similar stories. Have you found you are outside more because of the game? and has it positively impacted your mental health?

Thanks so much guys!

I know I'm going to sound like an old fuddy duddy here, and I don't want to stop people having fun, but I just thought I'd share a little story from the weekend. I was having a stroll by the ocean with a friend, it was just before sunset, and there's a nice jetty that goes right out across the water.

It was lined with people, of all ages, men and women... and every single one of them was staring into their phones! I spotted the Pokemon game on a few of them. I think it's great if this game can get people out of the house who wouldn't normally do it, but it made me a little sad that they were missing such beauty in front of them by not just looking up. We really are very lucky to live in Australia, and sometimes I think we take it for granted.

Not an old fuddy duddy at all Jess. I totally agree with you!

And not only that, this Pokomon Go craze is claiming victims every day - some directly as a result of the so-called game, others in a slightly less direct manner, but still attributable. You only have to read the newspapers and listen to the news. I think the world has gone bonkers!
