I have diabetes and mental health issues. Am taking medication for my diabetes, and am generally good diet. But my sister in law can be quite controlling about my diet. I know she is trying to help me, but it can be quite difficult at times and frustrating, am not how to deal with this issue.

Dear SilvaLady~
Welcome back. I'm sorry to learn you have diabetes, my partner had it and I realise how limiting it can become. As a result she was very frustrated (and had sore fingers:(
There can be a great temptation to break out of the diet and even go so far as to binge on the wrong things. While your SIL may be a pain and over-controlling I think this does have an upside as you will be less likely to eat the wrong things and get hyperglycemia or skip meals and get hypoglycemia.
I know I had to take an active part in assisting my partner by suggesting she kept to correct eating and exercise. This was not being bossy or controlling, and normally afterwards my partner would thank me for keeping her on the straight and narrow.
Has treatment moved on or do you still have to take a blood drop each time to test and have injections?
