In this thread please provide self help ways and reasoning why it worked for you, so people can pick and choose what works for them.

Hi Robbiepayton,

Thank you so much for your post and sharing and asking for specifics. Well some people take medication and see a professional to work through strategies and some clinicians specialise in PTSD, you can get a referral from your GP, here is the APS website where you can choose from many qualified practioners.http://www.psychology.org.au/

Some people walk, breathe do yoga or some other form of activity, I snorkel to release trauma and keep mind and body relaxed. There are our app 'smiling minds" there is Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and you tube Dr Janina Fischer she specialises in trauma. I also do mindfulness Jon Kabat Zinn or a free course palousemindfulness.com

You can call us on 1300 22 4636 or chat online, I really personally have to get out of the space im in and walk in nature, or walk to open my mind and move the body. I hope something here is useful, and you get the responses that can work for you. Best Wishes Nikkir x

Hey Nikkir,

Thank you so much for your response!! It truly is amazing to see how different areas of your lifestyle can really influence how you feel!

It is really important to maintain what works, with me I used meditation and actually imagining my mind was attacking me and i would pretend to fight it while I was mediating, this worked amazing for me and gradually I could feel my brain getting stronger.

Seeing a GP then being referred to a psychologist was one of the best things to happen for me, I then learned what was actually happening and how mindfulness and everyday activities could influence me to become stronger and think properly.

The number you provided is great! I have used it before and it helped me through my tough times!

Thank you so much for your reply and I hope you have a wonderful day! 😊
