Hi, a few weeks ago I posted asking anyone about information on I think it is called flash memories. I have an appointment with a therapist and I have no idea about years of quick images that have become more rapid and frequent, probably because the last few months have been really hard, attempted od ( thank god my partner stopped that) but it's because of these images and not knowing if they are real or not ,is driving me nuts( more than usual!). Even looking up info I am still confused. I am bipolar 2 so does this change my condition to bipolar 1,? Delusions? Oh crap, have no idea what to say to this psych and will she know what I am raving on about. 28 yrs of seeing these flashes, must be something right?. Please reply if you have an idea what I'm trying to explain  cos I ain't got a friggin clue lol Cheers👍

Hi Anroca78.  I am sorry that nobody has been able to respond to your last 2 threads.  It is obviously something that nobody here has any experience with.  And I'm sorry to say, I do not know anything about Bipolar 1 or 2 either.  So I am not able to help you there.  But I do have ptsd and I do experience flashbacks from time to time of the traumatic event that cause the ptsd.  I also suffer nightmares a lot, but they are quite different. Nightmares only occur when you are sleeping, whereas flashbacks can occur anytime.  During a flashback you feel or act as though the traumatic event were happening all over again.  It may last only moments where you are still aware of the 'here and now', or you may literally be transported right back to the actual traumatic event in your own mind and believe it is all happening again.

I dont know anything about delusions however, and I'm unable to shed much light on dissociation which could also be an issue for you.

I dont know if any of this is helpful to you.  But I was concerned that nobody had responded to 2 of your recent threads.  I didnt want you to feel neglected .................

Your therapist is the best person to advise you, and you need to be up-front and honest with them.  Including about your attempted od.  I'm so glad your partner was around to prevent that from happening.  I hope your upcoming appointment goes well for you.  And in the meantime, please take care.

Hello Anroca

You sound like you are in panic mode.

I hope it was OK that I reply, even though I don't have the same issues as you. I just wanted to let you know I care and I hope someone that knows about these things will reply to you..

Hugs
