Hi all,
I'm new to this forum. I'd like to introduce myself. I'm 40 years of age, female. My interests include music (any genre), reading a great novel, watching comedy, Restuaranting, and learning new things. I suffer from depression and anxiety. Depression feels very lonely for me. I'd like to reach out for some support. Thank you.

The other song Ive never heard before.
Motivational music to pump you up for an intense work out for me would be an old one, "eye of the tiger". Rocky theme song.

i was also going to say eye of the tiger, blubes! they used to use it in my gym classes back in the day
I could probably also go Katy Perry - her music tends to be energetic and doesn't need to much concentration!
On my own I listen to more depressing music - not for working out but just to zone out - paul kelly, nick cave and leonard cohen (my favourite)

mocha delight said:So I’m looking into trying out some hobbies and would love to know what are everyone’s hobbies so I can get some ideas/inspiration ect ect ect so please inspire me with yours.
Hi mocha darling, did you say HOBBIES? lol... How about cross stitch? You can get a smallish pack with all the threads and ONE needle (called a bodkin bec it's blunt) but you may need a stash of bodkins if you get into it).
You can choose one in just ONE colour then you won't have to muck around with colours on the first one.
Beware of the bookmark ones lol.. they seem simple bec they're so small but they are SO complicated.
It's really fun!
BUT my all time favourite is gardening, just in case I haven't ever mentioned it before lol.. we have a gardening thread here and it's like a brains trust of information and omg the stuff we all grow is SO COOL!
I have lots of hobbies that I pick up and put down depending on my mood or inclination.
I LOVE knitting and made booties for my grandchildren out of Japanese Silk Wool! OMG I wanted some lol, they're awesome.
Didn't monkey do a paint by numbers waterfall recently?
HEY MONKEY!!! Come help mocha.
What interests YOU mocha?

lol oh dear that reminds me of EVERY football Grand Final I've had to suffer through, my first ex Hs played football.
Year 7 lol...
How bout shaking it like Beyonce? Crazy in Love. My favourite version is on the American NFL Superbowl Grand Final 2013. (Yeah no escaping football!)
I LOVE the way Beyonce can DANCE!
When I turn that one on the grandkids have to TRY to keep up with Nana's dance moves, I've ALMOST got that one down pat lol. We usually just fall down laughing at each other.

Sleepy21 said:hi Blubs - I think you were also very right about my bedroom - it's feeling like the man-child from the rom-com vibe with too much charcohl. I always like that look lol but I am female. Maybe its time I go and get those white touches you suggested. need it!
I like "coral" to go with charcoal... it's not quite "pink" but soft and feminine.
I also like a velvety throw on the end of the bed.
I'm into texture big time.
I'm loving the revival of plush velvet lol because I never let it go lol! So it's come round full circle and I love it. All my kids had velvety thick throws on the ends of their beds for 30y lol.
Even as adults the ACs had to go buy them for their beds when they moved out bec their beds didn't feel "finished", so funny.
I have thick velvet, deep turquoise cushions on my lounge and 2 linen cushions with peacocks on them.
The lounge is dark brown mainly bec I have lots of kids and it's a very forgiving colour lol!

HI Angels
My chicken's a rascal! She's walking, eating - omg a Christmas miracle.
Blubes! Schitt's Creek is SO funny! I haven't laughed so hard for ages.
I hope you guys watch comedies & listen to upbeat music some times.
For me, it was like I was punishing myself so wouldn't watch comedies. I didn't find ANYTHING funny for a very long time.
I only listened to songs that matched my mood & feelings which was fine at the time, I guess... but not for elongated periods. I think restricting myself helped deepen depressive feelings tbh.
Anyway the most serendipitous thing happened today.
I saw my specialist. I'm on a wait list for hospital. It's ok.
Then I needed to do food shopping.
I was GOING to not buy myself a chai... then I decided to DO IT.
So I pranced over to the coffee shop to get one.
I was 'in the line', an older lady was sitting there with her little dog. I asked if I could pat him, she said OFCOURSE! So I did & we got chatting.
I went to order a chai. I know the girl serving. She said "Are you talking to Angela over there?" (NOT her real name lol) I said yes, but I want to go and sit with her and we gave each other a knowing 'she needs company' look.... so she said "Here have a free one".
Wow, Thankyou.
We chatted about her dog and pets. Then another older lady, I'll call Esther, with a dog came & sat with us.
OMG girls the conversation!!
They BOTH live in the same retirement village.
They BOTH said how lonely they are 😞
They both told stories of 'bad husbands' & getting out of bad marriages in the 60s & 70s (I was in school then just FYI lol).
They were saying things the other never knew. Really shocking things.
I reached over & held Esther's hand at one point as she told me about the daughter she was forced to give up for adoption before I was born.
I thanked her bec I know it wasn't her daughter we adopted but I Thank God every day for my brother.
THAT'S why I love him so much also. After Praying to God for another baby to love, God gave him to me to cherish & I do.
I just knew "God wanted me right HERE, right NOW" with the girls. I stayed for longer than I'd planned!
We bonded over shared experiences.
We have plans to meet there next week! WITH my dog - God give me strength lol.
Seriously, the two most amazing, courageous women.
Drs appt soon.
Dinner tonight with which ever kids are here lol.
Feeling flooded with the most beautiful loving energy right now.

Hi Sleepy,
Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen is depressing music. I like the Kylie and Nick Cave song.
I like the all charcoal look - I have a sateen dark charcoal set and it looks amazing. But I did offset the darkness with white flat sheet set which includes the 2pillow cases. Yeh, I think it would be better if you got a white set to break up the darkness, for sure. But it's up to you - I personally like the masculine look.
