Taking antidepressents for the first time tomorrow morning.

Hi,

Im not really sure why im posting this but Im feeling really unsure about taking medication tomorrow. I have had depression for about 7 years, but at the beginning my mum thought i was too young (i was 12-13), and its only now that I have finally decided that I need something else to help as I cant seem to make myself happy on my own.
I am really hopefull for what the antidepressents will do, but I am also really worried. My father has bipolar, and I am really worried that by taking them, it could trigger it in me. I dont have bipolar my self, but due to the genetic predisposition to it and the increased chance of getting it as my dad has it, im really worried that this might be enough to set it off.
As much as I want to be happy, if it risked me going through what he has gone through and put us through over the years, I wouldnt do it.

Sorry, im not really sure what the point of this was, I think I just wanted to vent a little bit.

Sorry missed that bit about your psych report.... its abit hard to ignore when a mental health professional writes your struggling and the effects etc. Teachers arent mh professionals so cant make these sorts of calls.

hey sn,

dont feel bad at all! take as much time as you need.

im definitely 'more' ready for this one, not ideal but oh well. hopefully i can atleast answer some of them correctly.
yea i hope they do accept it, uni is pretty bad though at accepting certain things for consideration. but fingers crossed.

hope youre doing okay

Ive got my fingers crossed for you too Cee. I hope tney accept it or give you a special consideration.

Good luck for your exam tomorrow too

hi sn,

usually for mid semester tests/assignments etc, they dont consider the special consideration application under after its been done or after its due. so as long as i apply within 4 days, they will look at it.

not feeling great.

i feel like i cant move. ive been lying in bed since i got home at 11, its not almost 7pm. i havent even looked at my pathology notes for the mid sem on wednesday. i just cant focus. ive been crying off and on for most of the day. the mid sem thismorning wanst great. i couldnt seem to concentrate at all, but i tried my best.

Oh c

im sorry to hear your not doing well. I'm here if you need me.

hopefully you can get your consideration.

All you can do is try your best, really right now you need to focus on you but I know it's not that easy.

sending hugs and love

Nath

Oh Cee,

A gentle hug from me...

You sound so distraught and despondent. It must be awful to feel as you do now...

But as Nath said, you did your best, given your circumstances and given your state of mind at the time...I realise knowing that might not make you feel better as I know there's a lot riding on your grade (sighs).

Hoping for the best for you special consideration apps/requests...and all the best for Wednesday...

Kind thoughts,

Pepper xoxo
