I haven't been using the forums much apart from a couple of responses to others posts. I stopped as I was too busy & trying to keep up with the forums was becoming too stressful. In September My husband went to Europe which was great although tiring due to the pace of the tour we did. Unfortunately a few days before returning home I fell heavily on concrete steps hurting my right side. I continued on relying on icepacks to manage the pain. I couldn't sleep because of the pain when lying down. The last day I came down with a bad cold which developed into a chest infection later on. The pain eased after 6 weeks & I recovered from the chest infection but have ongoing problems with fatigue & abdominal discomfort. My GP arranged pathology tests. The blood tests are normal but urine isn't. Today I was sent for a ultrasound of kidneys & bladder. Next week I have a gastroscopy & colonoscopy. My stress levels seem to be escalating out of proportion each time I see the GP & get sent for more tests. Prior to my accident my mental health issues were settling down but the last week it is much worse. I have lost my temper a few times in the last week without much provocation. This is not normal for me. I have been on a diet for several months but I am now finding it really hard to stick to it I just want to go & eat food I know will make me feel worse. The diet is a healthy one which I normally find easy to stick to because the food is satisfying.
I just want to get back on track & feel in control of my life & not feel so stressed & down. I also feel guilty for feeling this way because There is no confirmation of a serious illness.

i'm struggling with constant discomfort /pain fatigue due to not sleeping properly and frustration at not being able to do things which are normally easy. One son had arranged to come tomorrow with his kids to do some jobs i needed dong. Now with lockdown he can't come. I have had my husband's support workers help with some meal prep but they won't come on the weekend. My mood is not good. This has not been helped by difficulties with GP. I have seen 3 different doctors in less than a week trying to get my cast changed because it wasn't supporting the wrist and was causing more problems than the fracture itself. After the last Gp visit I ended up going to emergency where I finally got a new cast and referral to a specialist which is what I asked for at the start. I have developed other physical problems with my arm due to the refusal of the doctors to treat me properly. I am struggling to think straight due to the pain & tiredness.
I feel stupid as I burst into tears all the time.

Hi Elizabeth ⚘ and our lovely friends 👋
I really hope you've managed some decent sleep.
The body incredibly can take a fairly long time before as my GP once said then it has to give in.
Trouble from my experience that's when we hit exhaustion although then we start getting sleep which we so badly need.
It has a downward effect on our ability to cope and mood which changes when we get more sleep.
Poor lady you're having such a hard time.
I'm so glad before your ouch fracture you had some beautiful times with family and watching the Grandies would be priceless.
Use these memories as often as you can dear Elizabeth. The happiness you experienced remains.
That can give you a desparately needed good mind rest hun.
I wonder could hubbys support workers make or prepare to cover week ends food darl.
Geez sounds like quite an ordeal with gp's not at all good but eventually you got there lady good job.
I feel sorry you go through so much.
In time that as we know travels fast you'll be looking back on this and you will have gotten through. It's now tho isn't it.
You're strong enough to cope dear lady which is heavily clouded lately more so by a run of particularly hard circumstances.
We're with you Elizabeth standing by you with deep care and friendship 🤗 if you're ok with hugs lovely.
⚘... for a pleasant mind break if you feel up to hun how bout just looking at your beautiful Rose...

Thanks Shell & DB I am finding it is hard typing with one hand particularly capitals so I am not typing much. Your questions about the rose reminded me of the experience I had on my short walk. I don't feel able to walk too far and have to stick to easy paths as I can't afford to trip over. I tire quickly. Since I can't do anything really exciting I stopped outside one house which had plants for sale outside with an honesty box. I spent time looking at the plants and admiring the way the person had put them in interesting old containers. Many were common plants but looked lovely in old cups or teapots etc. Spending a few minutes looking and admiring them took my mind off things. Later I rubbed my fingers on a plant overflowing through the fence and then smelt it.
Your rose questions reminded me of the importance of stopping and really looking or smelling or feeling what is around rather than a quick glance as you pass.
Meanwhile I am ok but still over react to minor things Bad nights sleep has left me feeling down. Lockdown makes it harder because noone can visit unless they are actually caring for us but I really need the more friendly visit to take my mind off things

Elizabeth
it seems unfair that you have to cope with so much while in pain.
Can you rest and have me time at all ?

Dear Elizabeth hi and to all ☺
Dear lady you have so much on your plate.
It's difficult having a part of our bod not working I don't at all blame you feeling frustrated. Not sleeping on top of that really adds to tension. Hopefully your wrist will heal sooner than later.
I know how it is to not feel any pleasure from things it's awful. I feel for you darl.
My doctor said once the body can only go without enough sleep for a certain amount of time then we do get better sleep. I'm hopeful when you get better quality rest you'll find your bad feelings will ease off in time too.
Wish I could help in some way but know I care and always listening good lady.
Is there some nice gentle music that might help sooth you a little hun.
Leaving some beautiful pretty scented frangapani petals in a pretty crystal bowl. The scent permeates the air it's lovely.
Be gentle with yourself lovey.
⚘
