Hi Everyone
I've had so much loss over the last 3 years, 3 family members (Brother-in-law, Sister-in-law and husband's grandmother) and most recently (Yesterday) a work colleague, and I'm struggling.
I get stressed or anxious, my heartrate is risen and i get stiff and i am all over the place today at work - we are a small office and we all still had to come in.
I just don't know what to do, how to cope.
Home i seem to relax, i have my husband and toddler (light of my life) and more distractions i guess but work and when im trying to go to sleep are my biggest problems.
I'm so sad.

Hi Mummum88,
Welcome and thank you for reaching out to us.
I'm so sorry for your losses, grief can be hard to process at the best of times but grieving for multiple losses can make us feel depleted and lessen our ability to cope with everyday life. I have been there myself so I empathise.
The best advice I can give you is to allow the feelings to come up, sit with them, feel them, cry when you need to and let them pass through you. Try use breathing techniques to get through your days at work. A good breathing technique to try is one that activates the vagus nerve. Doing this signals your nervous system that you are safe, that it can dial down the stress response and begin to move into regulation.
Take a very deep breath (the kind that makes your diaphragm and belly expand), hold that breath for a few seconds, then release the breath as slowly as you can. Continue doing this until you feel calm again, you should notice a difference even after the first one. Use this whenever you feel overwhelmed to find your center again.
I hope this helps and please feel free to continue this conversation, we will be here for you.
Take good care of yourself,
indigo
