my Daughter

hi this is a different loss that I'm not coping with, my Beautiful daughter was pregnant with her first baby and at 32 weeks she had a massive brain aneurysm and was rushed to the hospital for an emergency birth and then a emergency operation to relieve pressure on the brain, My daughter and Grand Daughter where both in ICU for 2 weeks, Bub is well but my Daughter has now had 4 operations on the brain and has been fighting for 15 months now, it breaks my heart a little every day to see her fight just to do basic things, i constantly think about her and helping her every day has taken a massive toll on me, i find it hard to talk to anyone about it because at the end of the day it doesn't change anything, and im worried because it is now physically making me sick,

Hi Adrian S,

Welcome to the forums. I'm so sorry to hear about this situation with your daughter and grandchild– having a loved one in critical condition in hospital is one of the most stressful things that can happen in life, let alone when pregnancy complications are involved and it goes on for months and months. It sounds awful.

It's wonderful that your grandchild is healthy and that you have this living, breathing extension of your daughter to cherish while your daughter herself continues her fight for recovery. We should all be so lucky to have mothers that dote on us and care for us even after 15 months of intensive hospital care. It sounds like you are doing your absolute best to be a great mother under extraordinarily difficult circumstances. Are you able to take any time for yourself, or share some of this burden with other loved ones, to recharge your batteries a bit?

I can tell from your post just how worn out you are. You will benefit so much from even just a bit from some R&R, and in turn your daughter and granddaughter will benefit from a healthier, happier you. We're always here for you to talk on the forums 🙂

Warmly,

Gems
