You know those days, when you are lying on the lounge room floor, sobbing, and unable to stop...
What do people do to manage this?

Soloyo,
welcome to the forum and thanks for making this post.
I am sorry you are feeling like this.
Jess has given you helpful suggestions which I wont repeat.
I feel that getting comfortable and let the tears flow until is getting upsetting for you.
I believe in having a good cry .
When the tears slow down how would you feel about writing down any thoughts, nothing may come but mnay thoughts may come. I find that useful to at least get on paper how I am feeling.
If you feel up to it, let us know how you are going?

Thanks for your replies.
I feel like most days I find myself spontaneously bursting into sobbing tears. Sometimes after a few minutes I manage to distract myself for a bit. Other days I can cry for hours and I end up feeling exhausted. If I can bring myself to do it, I will usually contact a helpline on these days.
Does anyone else have current strategies that they use, that work? I find the advice to "go for a walk" too challenging during these moments.
I have just started seeing a new psychologist - 4th in 12 months 😞 I can only see them once a fortnight.
Thank you

Hi Soloyo
So I have no long term coping strategies, but I have my recent personal experience....
For years I bottled up all my sadness and I wouldn't let myself cry. I got really angry and anxious until something came along that touched me so deep that I had to let it all out. I cried a lot, including for almost the full duration of a 14 hour flight while traveling by myself. After a while I started to let myself celebrate each tear and embrace each moment in its beautiful richness, knowing that, like all things that moment would pass. It sounds self indulgent typing it out, but slowly the crying reduced and right now I cry every other day - which suits me right now.
I have found books just as helpful as psychologists and I highly recommend the book "Letting Go" by David Hawkins. The good thing about books is that they are available 24/7 😉
I hope you find the peace you seek.

Hi Jen,
Thanks for sharing your experiences, and I’m really glad that things are getting better for you.
I am definitely not opposed to crying but I feel as though things are not getting better for me. I cry most mornings and evenings now. And I had to take two days off work last week because I was so exhausted.
It just feel like it’s not going to get better.
I know that there are certain topics that trigger me - mainly to do with being single and not having children. I can’t seem to reframe these thoughts into anything helpful.
Because there are specific triggers I don’t think that increasing my anti-depressant medication again would help much.
I don’t know what to do to change this and I’m so tired.
