Hi, I've been struggling with school, its so much work and I feel I'm expected to do too much. Most of my subjects I feel won't help me in the future at all, and i don't have enough time for my won personal projects or subjects such as anatomy and physiology and art. I'm not one to waste my life away, but i'm struggling to get work in time and at this point i'm burnt out. How do i deal with this?

Hi Samuel,
Thank you for your post. What you are feeling is completely understandable – it can be really hard to have any sense of motivation to work towards something that feels like it isn’t going to help in the future, or that isn’t something you’re interested in. When we have to put effort into things we don’t see the point in, it can definitely lead to those feelings of burnout.
Have you spoken about this with someone in your life who you trust, such as a parent or teacher? It can feel really overwhelming managing this all on your own. Hopefully they might also have some ideas on how to modify your workload, if possible.
It sounds like you have some great interests. Is there any way you might be able to implement these more into your routine, even a little bit? Sometimes it can be helpful to start super small.
In the meantime, our friends at ReachOut have a great article on Burnout – including what you can do to help recover from it.
We hope that this can be a supportive space to share how you’re travelling along your journey. We’re here for you 24/7.
Take good care of yourself, Samuel
Kind regards
Sophie M
