I have quite high moral standarts and it makes me sick seeing so many people, especially CEO's and executives kick morals with their feet.

And these people are nurses and doctors too!! Its disgusting.

At the moment I just want to turn into cavewoman .

Hey Beetle, you are certainly not the lone ranger there. There are people who have no problems stepping all over other people to advance their own agendas that is for sure. This is where we need to concentrate on what we are doing to make sure we do not become the same type of person. Control the controllables.

You have been diagnosed with D & A, are you still being treated for them?

Good vent though, rarely does a day go past where I see this happen.

Mark.

HI MarkJT

Yes I needed to vent. I Don't expect anything to change though as being a A-hole brings you obviously up the career ladder as seen through the board. Advocating for the underdog ( e.g for the patient) is out of fashion and just gets you in trouble.

Yes I am on meds, wont let them go as they have literality saved my life. Without them I was and would still be a walking zombie, thinking of suicide more often than not. Now I have those episodes only fleetingly, if sh""hits the fan. Mind you in all those years I got very creative in how to end it all. Doesn't help being a nurse and being surrounded by death on daily basis. Makes death a basically normal thing and in itself nothing scary. its what you will leave behind is the scary part. ( e.g your body, family friends and whatever is precious to you).

Hi beetle.

I might sound over the top but a lot of people are hypocrits. Preaching about road safety some then board their car and operate their mobile ohone while driving.

However having said that humans aren't perfect creatures. CEO's and doctors are also humans. In 1987 I had to learn the hard way in that with therapy I was taught there we live in a grey world. Be too jydgemental as to what is right and wrong will churn your mind to such an extent it can make you unwell, lots of anxiety, depression etc before you know it you are no linger able to work.

What I realised is to study long termers at work, how do they survive the immoral activities of their superiors?. Usually they have an easy going approach and they dont react to the controversial issues. They also accept that they might not like what's going on but those bosses are the bosses, to keep having long term employment they fulfill their roll with the least reason for the spotlight upon them.

I've also worked in field that have had colleagues wrought the system in various ways. Having learned the hard way in the 80's I began to look just after myself and allow karma to do its thing. Often it did.

And I survived better in my job.

Hi Beetle

MarkJT and TonyWK have rock solid posts above.

You arent on your own here (Lone Ranger) in any way.

Its sounds like you care a great deal about the people you care for and good on you!

Nurses are the most underappreciated people on the planet.

Thankyou for having the guts to vent here

I hope you can post back to us

my kind thoughts

Paul

HI Beetle,

How are you feeling today?

I can relate to how you feel. I am being bullied at work. I post about it being my fear. I fear work so much and fear people from work finding out about my account here. which is crazy but I fear it. I try and keep everything information free. I'd like to know and if you can share them if you have any coping strategies for work, like when it is really bad day and people are mean to you.

I think you have such a good moral standard and you care a lot about your patients, it is inspiring you care so much and value your patients that much. I agree that people try to get ahead up the career ladder in workplace by bullying and being immoral to each other.

Good reply graysky
