Hi navman,
I'm sorry to hear things have been tough for you. It sounds as though you could have depression. I highly advise you see your GP, as they can offer support and refer you to another professional, if necessary. Try confiding in a close family member, like a sibling; or a trusted friend. Social support will be crucial for you.
Good luck and best wishes,
SM

Gday Navman
As I write this post im sitting in my truck ( too embarrassed to go inside to my nieces birthday because im having a really bad day!)
I was diagnosed with Depression 4 months ago and to begin with I didnt bother with counselling. Things got worse and my drinking steadily increased.
My wife insisted that I get counselling and ive begun it. Its gonna be a long road but counselling is slowly helping.
I guess I only recommend chatting to a counsellor and get outdoors and do some exercise ( even when you really don't want to !)
All the best !

Hey Navman,
sounds as though you're going through a period of depression. That morning lethargy and reluctance to do anything is all too familiar. While it's hard to motivate yourself to leave the bed, you'll always feel worse the longer you stay under the covers. I've learnt this through substantial personal experience.
Best advice - talk to a GP who can hopefully recommend someone for you to speak to about your issues. From what you've said it doesn't sound as though you have many avenues to discuss your problems with. That just compounds depression when we feel like we have to deal with it ourselves.
Try and do some things for yourself as well. It may be difficult to find time with your kid but at least get out into the sunshine for half an hour a day.
Best of luck and remember, things always get better,
Pat.

Hi navman,
I am sorry to hear your story, I am in the same situation, I am very depressed.
I came to Australia 10 years ago and all my family is overseas.
I just feel everyday is the same and I don't feel motivation.
Sometimes I don't wanna go out, and sometimes I drink and it makes things worse.
I am planning to start exercising, but I don't know what to do.
you are not alone, keep strong.
T

Hi all i am new today to this forum. I have felt the same the last few weeks did not want to go to work. I am getting very stressed about tasks at work have even felt tearful driving between my jobs. last night i finally broke down during a discussion with my wife something she said just triggered somthing i cried for about an hour. I feel so hepless and do not know what to do. I went to the docs today and have stared to move forward a little and feel a bit better today. I have always been a positive person and i was shocked with my own reactions and feelings. I think things just creep up on you and you can only take so much shit in your life then it just hits you when you least expect it. I have had a bad year my relationship with my wife has had problems we nearly seperated which was the start together with stress at work pushed me overthe limit. I just wanted to share my experiance and i hope you get better and get the help you need navman.
