hi there,

It all takes time.

Do you have a phycharist? Also a phycholgist? Spelling wrong. Are u on medication? if so,how long.

i don't mean bombard u. Can u go to work? These are things u have to try and put into place.

Do you do relaxation, it can help.

Dont be too hard on yourself ,as I said it takes time.

Hope this helps

Hi Soph

When I finally "came out" about my depression to family and a few close friends, initially I received plenty of empathy and support but for me at least, I soon realised that Depression is a solo journey and how you deal with it is really up to you to find what works best. Be prepared to see family and friends get on with their lives which can appear they don't care about your mental health. They do, but they can't walk in your shoes, they don't understand Depression or how to address it with you, it doesn't mean they don't have your well being at heart. To know the devil is to fight it, the devil being Depression. There are a number of ways to tackle this mental illness, you just need to work out what is best for you. Cheers Soph.

I’ve only just come to realise how I’ve been feeling has been depression and I can totally relate to this because I feel the same way.. my friend actually asked me and pushed me in the right direction to open my eyes as to what was happening in my life.. but where do I go from here??

Hi Soph101

Managing anxiety and depression is different for others. It would really depend on what causes the anxiety+depression and the referrals your GP/doctor would've given you

E.g. if there is a reason why you have anxiety+depression (e.g. going through prolonged trauma) you would probably need to undergo CBT with a psychologist (and potentially get anti anxiety/depressant medication from a psychiatrist)

Ways you could also manage anxiety and depression are also doing mindfulness meditation (which you can google for yourself)

Also exercise. Exercising is important if you have a mental illness. It's hard to exercise when you have a mental illness however it will take time to actually exercise properly. Start small and then do more as time progresses. If you are the type to struggles to get out of bed and doesn't want to walk from a place to another then try to get help from a friend/family or use a walking aid of some sort (such as a walking stick) to get from place to place

How does that sound?

Soph Chrissy Paul Myks Hiyaz welcome guys that are new 🙂 Excellent place here, good people doing it hard and understanding pain.

Depression is powerful as yous know it pulls us down, got a degree in it. It's in us to work on & change how we're feeling by taking charge of our thoughts & how we react. The beast slides us into a repetitive negative thinking mode. It's strong but we are too

Loven what Paul said above "to know the devil is to fight it", I agree tho a psych and friend too said not to fight but I can't see another way of getting on top. Taking it on or it takes us. Taking back control. I see it as a separate identity. Helps till I work out some other reason

This is your space to talk and let out without hassle or judgement

I believe we've got the goods to pull through

Go easy peeps
