I just want to feel happy

Not sure if there is anyone in the same boat as me but here goes my story. I am 30yo gay male moved here from interstate in January this year. I tried socializing and staying active which was great. But then I had alopecia and lost confidence and just felt so sad about myself.I took some time off from work and went traveling and felt great. But few days ago depression came back and I am back to square one. I just cant handle this anymore, it feels so exhausting and draining. I'd really appreciate if people would share their side of the story or give me any suggestions. I just want to feel happy and normal. Cheers

Welcome to the Beyond Blue forums PSMahi.

Mate I suggest you get some help, see if you can find a counsellor nearby and make an appointment. You need to be clear about what is going on so that you can find the right treatment. And if you are feeling really low remember you can ring the BB phone service 24/7, it's free and staffed by professionals that can help you to feel better straight away as well as point you in the right direction.

I know that 'can't handle this anymore' feeling. I have sought help from different psychologists and counsellors over time and I have made a recovery, I don't feel like that anymore. I am certain you can work on this and feel better.

Have you found something positive that can divert your focus? Maybe that's what travelling did for you and maybe you can practice diverting your focus to the parts of your life that make you happy and calm.

It sounds like things can't stay the same as they are. What do you think you might do?
