Hello Dear Bailybasil...
Meds do Only take the edge of the way depression effects us...
I know when I’m down I don’t feel to do anything...couldn’t be bothered, what for..these are my thoughts of even getting out of bed some mornings..
Depression and mental health troubles, don’t want us to do anything..it stops us from getting out of bed, cleaning our teeth, having a shower, eating, cleaning, yep just about everything....
The thing is, we must try hard to force ourselves to get up and do things...no, not easy is it?...but our meds don’t make our minds suddenly well or our bodies well enough to ...just automatically do what we need to do....
Iwe...well I, need to push myself sometimes to do the basic things each day,,,,to try to help myself...if I don’t push myself then I’m just going to stay in bed all day....and with that...my thoughts turn on me. and I start downing myself..
Their is a point, for you to be here on earth, their is a point to your life, Maybe if you can get up each morning, make your bed, freshen up then make a cup of tea, coffee, cocoa or whatever it is you like to drink, then for that day...you have accomplished something big for the day....The more we do things to help ourselves, the easier it becomes....Meds need our help as well to help us get better...
You’re important here, cared for here and without you knowing it, helping others who read your thread...

Hi Bailybasil....
You have you...to improve for...you are the most important person, to care for and with even a tiny bit of self care towards yourself.....your mental health will hopefully improve...Mental health, yours or anyone’s cannot even start improving....unless we ourselves put at least one foot forward and try to help ourselves.....Meds, even psychiatrists, psychologist can help in supporting us....but they cannot work miracles.....It’s really up to us...to have a want to recover....and take that first step...that very hard first step.....to help ourselves, to push ourselves to care for ourselves....You deserve some peace in your life....where there is breath their is hope...where their is hope, there is want..where there is want...their is self help and self care..

hi bailey basil... i' m not sure if you work or have contact with ur family? i remember you said you live with ur sister.
sometimes we just live to get through the next day, and it sucks, because we wish we had more. It is so hard, but from an outside perspective, I feel you have a lot to offer, and a lot of good things that will happen in ur life yet.

That's OK u don't need to be vulnerable upif Ur not comfortable, there are many ways to say I love u, without saying it, it can just be spending time together

Hi Baileybasil,
I'm sorry you feeling like that. I can't understand completely the pain you going through, but it sounds terrible.
If you are suicidal I would suggest you go for a few weeks in a clinic, and also I would suggest you contact a psychologist, in my personal experience, in Australia, psychiatrists don't do anything but prescribe you meds. If you haven't tried yet I would definitely suggest you see a psychologist.

Hi Christmas,
I have also not had good experiences with psychiatrists in Australia.
They seem to not be as empathetic or socially warm.. I have one that I like now but it feels like a unicorn.
I agree a few weeks in a mh clinic can be helpful, or seeing a psychologist, social worker, or peer worker.
Although unfortunately these services are all delayed ATM, so it's really wherever u can get in that u feel safe with.
