Getting worse.....

Hi,

i suffer from health anxiety even when I have been to the Dr and she advised all is good. I just cannot get it out of my mind that I am dying. I have been suffering this on and off over the last 27 years! My anxiety then developts into depression and I am struggling going to work every day. I stuggle every morning getting out of bed and cry most of the time. I am on AD and think they are working a little. I have the support of my beautiful Mum and husband but feel like I cannot continue To trouble them all the time. I just feel so unloved at the moment and want to be my happy little self again. Thanks for listerning.

Hi Jimmy,

i have kept a journal is the past and found it very helpful, thanks for reminding me I will start another one. It very interesting reading how you felt in the past experiences and what gets you through.

i will keep you updated on my journey!

Anntug, that is awesome that you are doing the imagery mediation and i really like how you have a strong belief that it will work for you. I think in the long run after you continue doing this, it will be great for you.

Really interested to see how you go with that so if you can keep me informed, that would really be appreciated.

Mark.

hello Anntug, I'm just about to log off but I'm rather concerned about the tests you have had on your liver, so if you feel comfortable I'd like to know, but only if you want to.
Please remember that there are many other people who are having trouble with their liver, I know that my gamma level is extremely high and has been for the last 15 years, but this can be caused for many reasons, maybe I can help you ease your mind.
If for some reason I forget please get back to me by adding to your post which will put your comment back on page 1. Geoff.

Hi Anntug,

Kudos for sharing your concerns with us.

I am sorry to read you are finding yourself in a dark place again. As Geoff pointed out, depressive states come and go in waves. Sometimes there's a trigger, sometimes it just happens. Waves do pass to reveal calmer waters.

On the brighter side, you have now experienced that things can and will improve. As time goes by, those awful downs become easier to manage and recur less often. Slumps are an unavoidable part of the recovery process.

I have found in the past that taking it 1 hour at a time does help. 1 hour is easier to deal with than 24.

Well done for seeking medical assistance to help you negotiate this difficult stretch. You are on the right track, even if it doesn't feel that way right now.

Kindest thoughts.

Hi there anntug

Welcome back to Beyond Blue and thank you for writing.

May I ask about how you got on previously? You mentioned you felt on top of the world and that things were going along pretty well … I do love hearing about how things can change at times. What kinds of mechanisms did you put into place at that time to help yourself? I’d assume you went along to your GP? Did you receive any follow up help, say from a psychologist? Finding things of interest to help you through the day, music, hobbies, sports, etc – anything along those lines?

Mornings are always hard … cause you’re going from a place of pretty much a safe and cosy sanctuary – your bed and then it’s the issue of getting up and going. I guess these colder mornings never help in this instance either. That’s where I mentioned above of having some kind of interest that could help with the “getting going process”.

Do hope to hear back from you,

Neil
