Even though I have depression and anxiety, I tried standup twice this year and am in an improv class at the moment.

What I did learn is you need to be able to relate to people to get laughs, and I don't. Improv requires a good imagination, something I didn't know I was missing until I took the class.

This post wasn't meant to achieve anything. I just needed to get it out of my system.

Hey,

Welcome to the forum!

Good on you for venturing out of your comfort zone to improve your skills. To stand in front of an audience and perform stand-up comedy is brave for anyone, and especially so for you because you have the added extras of depression and anxiety!

Hopefully you can ignite your imagination. It could be a really interesting process.

Thanks for your unique and refreshing post 🙂

Best wishes,

Good on you for getting out there and up on a stage to entertain people, especially if you weren't feeling great. takes a lot of guts. Great stuff and all the very best.
